These are criminal figures for Astro. Sony’s most critically acclaimed first-party release *of all time* (according to OpenCritic) can’t even crack 2mil? The Sony base needs to get their priorities straightened out, this is insanity. I knew launch figures would be low, but not this low.

These numbers will explode with the holiday season, I have no doubt. I remain optimistic for Astro.

According to Chris Dring, Astro Bot sold more than Kirby the forgotten land in the UK during their launch periods. So that means that the UK was likely a massive outliner due to how dominant Playstation is there compared to Nintendo, while Kirby outsold Astro Bot pretty much everywhere else.

I never said that. The best selling 3D Mario is Odeysey with 28,50 million i think (?). It could get there. I was only refering to some funny people claiming Astro would wipe the floor with Mario (youtube comments), yet it is on track with Mario Kart 8 for WiiU. I do not think anyone including me expected numbers this low.

It was always delusional, only a small fraction of the PS user base will buy games like Astro Bot, the only thing that sells on a big way there is Sony AAA games as well as big multiplats like CoD.

I was not refering to you, but there was a huge portion of people in forums who swore it would outclass Mario. This is why some people look very stupid if their prediction fails when they swear it will be.  (game/ console a will 100% outsell game/ console b).

People comparing Astro to Mario =/= People saying Astro will outsell Mario. I'd love to see an actual post where people have suggested sales of the kind, only that it could be an evergreen like Mario is.

If we're talking reception its 94 metacritic is just shy of Odyssey's 97, so its actually very competitive

Helldivers released on PlayStation and Steam simultaneously, and sold more on Steam, where online shooters are VERY popular. Also, if Astro didn't sell more than every platformer outside of Mario I would consider it a Concord level of failure lol, can you name any other AAA 3D platformer in the year of our lord 2024? All we have is indie titles made for a market niche.
