Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu Sales: Week 29, 2024 (Jul 15 - Jul 21)

This was a really good week all around. Good hardware sales for all current problems and several new releases. I haven't touched my Switch in quite a while, but I got it back out again the day NWC released.

The PS5 apparently got a boost from a Genshin Impact thing and I'm guessing the Switch got it from that baseball game to make this the best overall week in a few months. The 2nd half of the year is certainly off to a good start with this July.

Genshin released 4 years ago on Playstation and its a f2p game I don't know how it could boost the PS5. I think the boost is from that baseball game also

According to Chris1964 over on Install Base a bundle for it just released and it was a public holiday in Japan last week.

I had a look. Apparently there is a bundle in Japan which gives 1 costume of choice and 800 primogem which is 5 pulls worth. The costumes were free from doing events and 800 primogem can be bought for around $10. You can't get the costumes from the events any more but can be bought for $20 each. Still that 10k or so boost is too much for a 4 year old F2P game

Excellent week across the board.

Powerful Pros living up to its name; unless there was one last year that I missed, the previous entry sold 146k week one compared to 216k for this one; mostly driven by the Switch version increasing from 92k in 2022 to 146k now. (PS dropped slightly from 54k then to 49k now) Releasing on a week with a holiday probably helped, but still, nice growth.

If the Switch keeps these numbers, it'll have similar sales units of last month, but with the disclaimer that last month was a 5-weeks month

Both Luigi's Mansion games in the top 10, nice.

The game is popular enough in Japan that I buy that a PS5 bundle for it would give a notable boost for a week. The main thing though is I wonder if it'll remain above 30k next week or not.

I’m surprised Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 wasn’t released on PS5. Perhaps Konami didn’t see real urgency to release it there.

Sorry double post.
