Further proof that Republicans are not better with the economy like they get credit for.

Trump just goes on about how prices were lower when he was president but doesn’t give any legitimate plans to make that happen again or what he specifically did to make the economy strong in 2017-2019.

He came into his presidency after 7 consecutive years of steady GDP growth, declining unemployment rate & low inflation. All he did was not fuck up Obama’s economy before Covid hit.

Whoa, wait a second.

You are making a bold claim in your last paragraph, because as far as I remember, Trump engaged in trade wars and tariffs with China which ultimately only hurt American businesses and people. You are giving Trump too much credit.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

I came across some polling in Germany. How do Germans think of the USA's presidential candidates? It's not going to have any influence on US elections, but it is relevant in the sense of how the USA is being viewed elsewhere. You know, like when Trump supporters say that Trump will make the USA more respectable on the world stage again.

This specific and reliable pollster operates on a monthly basis, so here goes.

Favorability ratings in July when Biden was still in the race:
Biden - 28%
Trump - 9%
Neither - 59%

And for August:
Harris - 77%
Trump - 10%
Neither - 8%

The missing percent can be attributed to people who don't care at all about US politics. Anyway, looks pretty rough for Trump when he comes in lower than the AfD in both months (17% in July, 16% in August).

I saw people posting about a poll in Demark a month ago, I can't find the source but they said it reported that 85% would vote for Harris if they could and only 8% for Trump, Lol. It's no surprise though, nobody in Europe should want Trump in power, he will throw us under the bus the first chance he gets, so fuck him.

A Trump supporter asks him a valid question about what he plans to do about high rent prices. His response: Drill baby drill, bacon is insane, everything was better when he was prez, and China

He doesn't understand that falling prices across the board are just as bad but in a different way.  The way to handle the problem (high prices overall) is slowing natural inflation and increasing wages.

Now dropping energy costs by itself is different but you damn sure don't get lower energy prices simply by drilling more.  For one, US oil isn't well suited for gasoline or similar products.  Our refineries for gasoline are largely designed for a different weight of crude oil that we still have to import.  Drilling more of the same stuff doesn't help.

Also, we drill more now than under Trump.  Technically, more than ever before.

Billions of barrels per day:
2017:13,140
2018: 15,321
2019: 17,136
2020: 16,493

2023: 19,365

To the privileged, equality feels like oppression.

This video popped up on my feed. Never watched any of his videos before. He does a great job explaining his points and sticking to the facts. I recommend Trump supporters to give it a watch.

Uh-oh, could this be Swift Boat 2024?

"A veteran who served with Harris running mate Gov. Tim Walz accused him of embellishing his time in the service and abandoning his unit just before they deployed.

In an interview Wednesday on "The Ingraham Angle," Ret. Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Behrends, who said he was a member of Walz's battalion, scolded the Minnesota governor for misleading the American public about his military career.

His service concluded when he retired from his unit in the Minnesota National Guard right before they deployed to Iraq in 2005, the New York Post reported."

Based.

He served 24 years, and then didn't go to that shit war, which he disagreed with.

Hiku, why do believe the 2003 Iraq war was a "shit war"?

I mean, it was a war that the US government lied to get the public behind. The main thing remembered about it (to the people I've talked in anyway) is that we were told Sadaam had weapons of mass destruction and had some sort of ties to terrorist organizations (the infamous Prague meeting). The only weapons of mass destruction Sadaam had were outlawed chemical weapons, not the nuclear weapons they had been insinuating, and the Prague meeting at the time was doubted by the CIA as ever having taken place, as well as the FBI finding no evidence of the meeting occuring.

Some of Walz’s fellow retired Guardsmen have also disputed the characterizations: Al Bonnifield, who served under Walz and described him as “a very caring person” and “very good leader” to Minnesota Public Radio in 2018, explained that Walz retired so he could run for Congress in 2006 and had been weighing the decision before the deployment was announced.

Man Who Served Under Tim Walz Says Governor Retired Before Deployment News

Joseph Eustice, a 32-year veteran of the guard who led the same battalion as Walz, said the governor fulfilled his duty. "He was a great soldier," Eustice said. "When he chose to leave, he had every right to leave." Eustice said claims to the contrary are ill-informed and possibly sour grapes by a soldier who was passed over for the promotion to command sergeant major that went to Walz.

"I love him as a soldier; I don't care much for him as a politician," Eustice said of Walz. Eustice said he recalled talking to Walz in 2005 when they were at Camp Ripley. He said Walz told him he was thinking about resigning the guard and running for Congress. "The man did nothing wrong with when he chose to leave the service; he didn't break any rules," he said. DFL Ramsey County Commissioner Trista MatasCastillo, another Guard veteran who served at the same time as Walz but didn't know him, called attacks on the governor's service "disgusting."

Startribune

Walz didn't leave to avoid the Iraq War, he left to run for Congress, as other former veterans explain.

This line of attack won't stick, especially from the ticket running a draft dodger. Walz served his time in the army, 24 years. I don't know what stick up his ass that Thomas Behrends has but Walz would have submitted his paperwork before even receiving orders to deploy to Iraq and quite frankly, even if he did leave to avoid being deployed to Iraq...A lot of people in 2024 would understand his decision since it's a fairly unpopular war nowadays.
