Spiritfarer is such a special game. The way it treats death and saying goodbye is so honest and beautiful. Not many games make me cry, but Spiritfarer absolutely did. And, outside of that, the graphics, mechanics, and gameplay loop are outstanding. It's one of those games I would recommend to anyone.

In general, I've been lucky to cover a lot of indie games. I feel that some of the most daring and creative work is happening in the indie sphere.

Although, I understand the critics given to the 3DS remaster of Strange Journey amongst the community. It doesn't detract from its earnest and greatness of dungeon crawling aspects with the usual great battle system and challenging difficulty.

Anywoo, my choice amongst your reviews would most certainly be Breath of the Wild, but I know TOTK will take the spot once I finish it haha

A few from your list caught my eye. I wouldn't say Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is one of my favourite games, but I also pleasantly enjoyed the single player.

Bit surprised you rate Gears 4 so highly. And that you have Village so much higher than RE2. Not at all surprised by your top 2 though! (I would've predicted your top 3 but for putting Ori over TotK).

Yeah, Infinite Warfare is an odd duck. I've been thinking of writing an op-ed about it for a while. Maybe I'll finally make that happen...

As for the RE ranking, I suspect I'm in the minority. But something about Village really spoke to me. I greatly enjoyed the quasi-open world and the emphasis on combat.
