Qatar seems pissed, and rightfully so, I also noticed America desperately trying to distance themselves from the attack, either way America looks terrible though, either Netanyahu doesn't give a fuck what America thinks and is bombing their close allies now thus America has lost all influence over Israel, or America did approve of the attack and let it happen.

And Qatar has been working to achieve a ceasefire too.

Yeah, the Trump administration is claiming they didn't have enough time to warn Qatar, not even mentioning they would have not approved of the strikes. Trump is just scrambling now because the assassination attempt failed and Qatari security officers got killed and wounded as well.

Qatar is indeed pissed and Egypt as well (where negotiations have also been held)

Qatar denounces Israel’s ‘barbarism’ after Doha attack

Qatar has issued a new statement describing the “barbarism” of Israel’s leader a day after he launched air strikes on its capital, Doha, killing at least six people and wounding several.

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani expressed condolences to the family of Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed Al Humaidi Al Dosari of the Internal Security Force, who was killed in the attack, as well as the families of the other victims.

Mohammed wished a speedy recovery to the injured, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“His Excellency criticized Netanyahu for previously declaring intentions to reshape the Middle East, questioning whether this was also meant as a threat to reshape the Arabian Gulf,” it said.

“His Excellency argued that such hostile behaviour reflects only the barbarism of Netanyahu.”

And the gulf states are starting to see they can't trust the US anymore

Arab dignitaries head to Qatar to show solidarity in wake of Doha attack

Qatar’s prime minister has condemned the attack in Doha as “state terrorism” by Israel. He’s called it a treacherous act that goes against all international norms. That’s something that’s been echoed by leaders from all over the world.

There’s a long list of leaders who have spoken to the Qatari emir since the attack, and now some of them have started visiting.

We’ve just seen a visit concluded by the president of the United Arab Emirates. We’re expecting the crown prince of Jordan sometime later today, and it’s expected the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, will also be arriving sometime tomorrow.

It seems all these states that were talking about normalisation with Israel only recently are now looking at this as an attack on one of their closest allies, neighbours and partners.

This attack in the Gulf Cooperation Council has sent reverberations across the region. And Qataris have been quite insistent that the response will not come only from Qatar itself – it’s going to be a regional response.

I don't think they'll "get over it"...

Yechiel Leiter, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, says Hamas’s leadership is “on notice” and “going to be eliminated”.

In response to a question by Fox News whether Israel was successful in targeting the resistance group’s leaders, Leiter responded: “If we didn’t get them this time, we will get them the next time.”

Referring to condemnation levelled at Israel by the US and Gulf states following the attack on Qatar, he added, “Right now we may be subject to a little bit of criticism. They’ll get over it.”

Trump claiming they won't do it again will not convince anyone. As you said, either Trump is on board or lost all control. The USA is quickly losing any political sway it had over the ME.

Per usual Israel kills negotiators, well attempted to in this case, to push back any chance for a deal. This is their M.O. at this point. The regional nations need to put their foot down because it's obvious that the US Government is bipartisan when it comes to being bought off by AIPAC. This is what, the fourth sovereign nation they've attacked this year?

5th if you count Yemen. Lebanon and Syria get bombed all the time. Iran was earlier in the year (and who knows what covert other operations) and now Qatar.

Plus you also have these drone attacks on the aid flotilla. Israel doesn't claim those but who else would be behind them... Now in the port of Tunisia, earlier in May a double drone strike of the coast of Malta.

It's been Netanyahu's MO since the beginning. Next to adding more conditions every time a ceasefire proposal gets accepted by Hamas, also stepping up bombing and assassinations during ceasefire negotiations.

Israeli warplanes bomb Yemen’s Sanaa

The Saba News Agency, affiliated with Yemen’s Houthi rebels, reports that Israel has bombed the Yemeni capital. Al Jazeera’s correspondent on the ground also reports explosions in Sanaa.

Yemen’s Houthis say air defences confronting Israeli aircraft

Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for Yemen’s Houthi forces, said the group’s air defences are currently engaging Israeli warplanes carrying out raids on the country. His remarks come shortly after Israeli air strikes hit Sanaa, according to reports from the ground.

Israel attacked health facility, government building in Yemen: Report

Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV reports that Israeli strikes have targeted a health facility in Sanaa and a government building in the al-Hazm district. Earlier, the outlet said Yemeni air defences were confronting Israeli jets.

Israeli army says it bombed Houthi targets in Yemen

Israel’s military says its warplanes struck sites in Yemen’s Sanaa and al-Jawf, including military camps, a fuel depot and what it described as a media office. Houthi armed forces confirmed the strikes, saying air defences fired several surface-to-air missiles and forced some Israeli aircraft to withdraw.

According to the Houthi-run Al Masirah TV, the raids targeted a medical facility for the health sector in southwest Sanaa and the local government compound in al-Jawf’s capital, al-Hazm. Military spokesperson Saree accused Israel of trying to pressure the group to abandon their support for Gaza, but pledged operations against Israel would continue until its genocidal war on Gaza halts.

Israel has repeatedly bombed Yemen, including its main airport, killing civilians and damaging infrastructure in the war-torn country.

Netanyahu threatens Yemen with more bombings

After attacking several sites around Yemen earlier today, the Israeli PM says that this attack was in response to a Houthi drone strike on Ramon Airport in Israel a few days ago.

“This [attack] did not weaken our hand – we struck them again from the air today, at their terror facilities, at terror bases with a great many terrorists, and also at other facilities”, he said in a post on X.

“We will continue to strike. Anyone who strikes us, anyone who attacks us – we will reach them,” he threatened.

Israel has bombed six foreign countries, including Yemen, in the last month alone.

Israeli strikes on Yemen kill 9, wound 118, Health Ministry says

Yemen’s Health Ministry says at least nine people have been killed and 118 wounded in Israeli air raids on the capital, Sanaa, and al-Jawf province. It described the figures as a preliminary toll, warning the number could rise as rescue teams continue to search for victims.

The ministry said the raids struck civilian and residential areas, including homes in Sanaa’s al-Tahrir neighbourhood, a medical facility on 60th Street in the southwest of the city, and a government compound in al-Jawf’s capital, al-Hazm.

Civil defence teams are working to extinguish fires caused by the bombardment and pull survivors from the rubble, it added.

Houthis say death toll from Israeli strikes has risen to 35

“The number of martyrs and injured among citizens from the treacherous Zionist crime has risen … to 35 martyrs and 131 wounded,” the Yemen-based group’s Health Ministry spokesperson Anees Alasbahi said in a social media post, adding that the number was likely not final.

German police brutality targets pro-Palestine movement: Injured protester

Kitty O’Brien, a 25-year-old Irish pro-Palestine protester recently assaulted by German police in Berlin, fears their injuries may be life-altering.

On August 28, demonstrators joined a rally in what they thought was “really a normal Thursday for people protesting in Berlin”, said O’Brien, who uses they/them pronouns.

But as footage of the incident shows, the demonstration got heated.

During a shouting match in which O’Brien participated, an officer punched them several times. When they were removed from the crowd, blood pouring from their nose, the same officer broke their arm, O’Brien said. “I just heard a loud crunching and kind of knew that something wasn’t right.”

Gaza war lawsuit filed in Germany against German Israeli soldier

Human rights lawyers have filed a lawsuit in Germany against a German Israeli soldier over suspected war crimes in Gaza.

Acting with several Palestinian organisations, the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) alleged the soldier may have been involved in the killing of unarmed Palestinians.

The ECCHR said the soldier, originally from Munich, is believed to have been a sniper in the Israeli army’s “Ghost Unit”.

Legal action has already been brought against members of this unit in countries including France and South Africa, it added.

“If persons originating from Germany are suspected of involvement in war crimes, there is a clear mandate for the judiciary to act,” said Alexander Schwarz, co-director of ECCHR’s international crimes programme.

“The targeted killing of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip is a blatant violation of international criminal law. Germany is obliged under international law to independently investigate and prosecute such acts.”

Starmer accused of ‘rolling out red carpet for genocide’

“Starmer rolls out red carpet for genocide,” reads the front-page headline of The National, a Scottish daily, as anger mounts over the British prime minister’s meeting with Isaac Herzog, the Israeli president, today.

Green Party leader Zack Polanski is among those who have criticised Starmer for his decision to welcome Herzog, while calling for the Israeli president’s arrest.

“Welcoming a potential war criminal to the UK is another demonstration of how this Labour government is implicated in the ongoing genocide in Gaza,” he said.

“A refusal to detain Herzog can be seen as a contravention of the Geneva Convention, which makes clear that states have legal responsibility for preventing the targeting of civilians. When this is breached, individuals must be prosecuted, and this should be applied to Herzog.”

Starmer criticised in UK parliament for hosting Israeli president

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has faced sharp criticism in parliament for hosting Israeli President Isaac Herzog, with an MP comparing the trip to a visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Scottish National Party MP Stephen Flynn condemned Starmer for hosting Herzog at 10 Downing Street while Gaza is being turned into “a graveyard”.

“The prime minister will today welcome into his home … the man who called for the collective punishment of the Palestinian people … a man who will ignore every word the prime minister says,” said Flynn.

“Would he invite Vladimir Putin into Number 10?” he continued. “What does it say of this prime minister that he will harbour this man while children starve?”

Starmer defended his actions in response, describing calls to reject diplomacy as “the politics of students”.

US slams Spain’s measures meant to stymie Israeli weapons shipments

The United States has criticised a series of steps by Spain meant to restrict the use of Spanish ports and airspace for ships and planes transporting weapons to Israel.

“It is deeply concerning that Spain, a NATO member, has chosen to potentially limit US operations and to turn its back on Israel on the same day six individuals were killed in Jerusalem. These measures embolden terrorists,” a spokesperson for the US State Department told the news service Reuters today, referring to Spain’s actions earlier this week.

Massive US arms transfers have enabled Israel to continue its war in Gaza, despite overwhelming evidence that they have been used in war crimes against Palestinian civilians.

Yeah Israel needs those US bombs to attack Qatar...

US blames Palestinian state recognition for Israel withholding PA funds

US Ambassador Mike Huckabee says growing international momentum to recognise a Palestinian state has led directly to the collapse of US efforts to persuade Israel to release much-needed funds to the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Huckabee said he had been “shuttling back and forth” between the two sides, partly out of concern that worsening economic instability in the occupied West Bank could spark violence, but momentum towards recognition has hardened Israeli positions.

According to the PA, Israel is withholding about $3bn in tax revenue.

“I felt like we were making progress. We weren’t quite there yet, but we were talking and there was progress, and there was understanding of the importance of getting it resolved,” Huckabee said.

When asked whether the Palestinian funds that Israel has blocked would remain on hold indefinitely, Huckabee said everything is “frozen in place”.

Palestinian officials suspect the withholding of funds is a deliberate attempt to stifle the economy. They warn it could backfire on Israel by pushing people towards armed resistance.

Britain, France, Canada, Australia and Belgium have all said they will recognise a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly this month.

You mean, you almost got away with 'quietly' annexing your Judea and Samaria...

Israeli TV host celebrates Doha attack with champagne, sweets on air

An Israeli television host has celebrated his country’s deadly attack on Hamas in Doha on air with champagne and baklava for his studio guests.

Footage shared by Israel’s right-wing Channel 14 showed host Yinon Magal, host of daily current affairs show “The Patriots”, opening his show by playing music and popping a bottle of champagne, as the studio audience applauded.

Countless countries and international bodies have strongly condemned the attacks.

Netanyahu says Qatar must expel Hamas members, threatens further strikes

The Israeli leader threatened further attacks on Qatar, seeming to wave aside outrage over Israeli strikes on Hamas negotiators and officials in Doha on Monday.

“I say to Qatar and all nations who harbour terrorists, you either expel them or you bring them to justice. Because if you don’t, we will,” Netanyahu said in remarks commemorating the September 11, 2001, attacks in the United States.

Qatar says there will be a ‘collective response’ to Israeli ‘bullying’

Speaking with the US news outlet CNN, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said that there must be a “collective response” to Israeli aggression.

“There is a response that will happen from the region. This response is currently under consultation and discussion with other partners in the region,” Al Thani said. “We are hoping for something meaningful that deters Israel from continuing this bullying,” he added.

The Qatari leader also said that the Israeli strike was aimed at undermining “any chance of peace”. “Everything about the meeting is very well known to the Israelis and the Americans. It’s not something that we are hiding,” Al Thani said of the presence of Hamas officials in Qatar.

“I think that what Netanyahu has done yesterday – he just killed any hope for those [Israeli] hostages,” he added.

Qatar ‘strongly condemns’ Netanyahu’s earlier comments on hosting Hamas

Qatar has issued a new condemnation of the Israeli PM after he earlier said that the country must expel Hamas members. Qatar called them a “shameful attempt … to justify the cowardly attack that targeted Qatari territory, as well as the explicit threats of future violations of state sovereignty”.

Netanyahu’s remarks did imply that more attacks could come in the future. “I say to Qatar and all nations who harbour terrorists, you either expel them or you bring them to justice. Because if you don’t, we will”, he said.

“Netanyahu is fully aware that the hosting of the Hamas office took place within the framework of Qatar’s mediation efforts requested by the United States and Israel,” Qatar continued.

“He is also fully aware of the office’s role in facilitating numerous exchanges and ceasefires, which have been widely acknowledged and appreciated by the international community and have brought relief to Palestinian civilians and Israeli hostages in desperate need of basic humanitarian relief from the ruthlessness that has ensued since October 7th,” it added.

“Such statements are hardly surprising coming from an individual who relies on extremist rhetoric to win elections and is wanted for international justice, facing mounting sanctions on a daily basis – factors that only deepen his isolation on the global stage.

International action required to ‘confront Israeli aggression’, says MBS

The international community must act to confront “Israeli aggression” after its attack on Doha, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has said. Speaking to the Saudi Shura Council on Wednesday, the crown prince emphasised that his country “rejects” the Israeli strike against Hamas officials in Qatar.

Bin Salman also expressed his condemnation of Israel’s war on Gaza. “Gaza is Palestinian territory, and the rights of its people are inalienable and cannot be taken away by any aggression,” he said.

As we reported earlier, the Saudi crown prince is due to travel to Doha on Thursday in a show of support for Qatar.

Strong solidarity with Qatar in response to Israeli attack

There have been strong words in response to Israel’s attack on Doha, with the Qatari prime minister having said the situation has now gotten to the point of something that cannot be repaired.

He went on to say that this is a clear indication that Israel has no intention of being part of any peace, in Gaza or arguably the wider region …

We’ve also just gotten reports that a delegation of what we understand to be representatives of Israeli arms companies who tried to go to Dubai to participate in an arms conference has been stopped by authorities there from doing so.

It’s an indication of the growing sense of solidarity on a regional level, as well as more widely, in the wake of this attack.

UN Security Council meeting on Qatar strikes postponed

An emergency UNSC meeting addressing Israel’s attack on the Qatari capital has been rescheduled for Thursday, per a request from Doha.

“The Security Council postponed today’s emergency briefing on ‘the situation in the Middle East’ to tomorrow afternoon, at Qatar’s request, so that the Prime Minister of Qatar can take part in the meeting,” the South Korean presidency, currently the rotating council president, said in a statement Wednesday.

Canada says evaluating ties with Israel following Qatar strike

Foreign Minister Anita Anand has reiterated that Canada sees Israel’s attack on Doha as “unacceptable”, but offered few details about what changes, if any, are being considered.

“We are evaluating our relationship with Israel,” Anand told reporters.

When asked if Canada was considering sanctions of some kind, Anand said the government “will continue to evaluate our next steps”.

Canada has been evaluating for 2 years now...

Israeli strike on Qatar demonstrates ‘double standard’ in international community

Middle East analyst Adam Shapiro says that Israel’s strike on Qatar is not likely to result in serious consequences, since Israeli violations of international law have become routine and rarely incurred consequences.

“By not asking or not informing the Americans early, Netanyahu could avoid getting a ‘no’ and then just deal with the consequences after. Israel has consistently been rewarded for dealing with consequences after its attacks or its actions with a double standard in the international community,” he said.

“What others can’t get away with, Israel consistently gets away with.”

Russia as well with Trump in office... Putin is getting as bold as Netanyahu in attacking more countries, sending drones into Poland.
