...And? I'm sure there are quite a few Wii games with scores around there.

@aj: look at the disparity in professional vs reader reviews.

i don't have solid data to back me up yet, but my feeling is that there are some games that have somewhat of a "cultish" following. quite a few atlus games are like that, i.e. relatively low productive value but somehow very high addiction or enjoyment factor for a small number of people.

that the feeling i get from playing etrian odyssey, a kickass atlus game on the DS. that game has reviews in the mid 70s though i think, but my enjoyment factor is probably in the 90s.

I second this idea. I would also add that this game is a roguelike, which is hardly everyone's cup of tea. That said, I have heard poor reviews from users, so I'm not quite willing to hop on the wagon yet.

Isn't there often a fairly large discrepancy between critic and user reviews?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

It's always like this with this genre. Appeals to a different crowd.

One of the problems with this game is that it is a 10-year port from the Saturn.

I love the Saturn -- but this game was deemed not sellable in the US until recently. Strange.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

How is the game highly regarded in Japan if the game is apparently a piece of crap? Bad remake(or Port)?
