Someone on Famiboards got an early release copy of Star Wars Outlaws and posted direct feed screens (docked mode).

Pretty darn good if you ask me, I was expecting maybe results like this maybe 2-3 years into the system's life, not straight outta the gate. Makes me wonder too if Nintendo should offer the option of letting people play docked settings undocked. If they want the 45-60 minute battery life for certain games, why not.

Same guys says the framerate is solid as well.

If these are legit, then this is far better than I expected.

For comparison, here's how an "impossible port" of an ambitious open world game tended to look on Switch 1:

Image quality is not that great (go to original images and open them in 4K), but from average TV distance it's fairly descent.

Looks fantastic and apparently includes all the DLC? Might just pick this up once I find out when MP4 Beyond hits.

I figure S2 is always going to target 30 fps, with dips into the 20s, with lower resolution.  Just a question of how much those two aspects matter, personal preference and all that.

Just for context here was the game on the Rog Ally.

Switch 2 is holding its own pretty well against PC handhelds imo.

DLSS is so much better than what AMD offers.

Performance test: https://youtu.be/o91Nlz0EPDE?si=Dne6Bp7MbKRDLprr looks like it's very stable even before day one patch :)

Explains the image quality difference, but the performance difference is pretty steep as well, which shouldn't be the case given that these chips have like twice the CPU performance of Switch 2. Z1e and even certain Z2e handhelds struggle to run this game at a solid 30fps at their max TDP, and while the Switch 2 isn't always at 30fps (in certain scenes it drops to 25fps), most of the time (in most scenes) it is pegged there.

But yeah, this is showing what was meant by Switch 2 being able to run 9th Gen titles with 9th Gen features pretty smoothly and the last-gen consoles certainly not being able to without new lighting systems or a far less efficient (than HW Rendering) RT software-renderer.

Wish I liked Star Wars and/or Star Wars games or this game was actually decent gameplay-wise. Ubisoft deserves the sale for a good port.

Is the S2 able to render at lower resolutions via DLSS and put demand off the CPU?
