I dont believe they will hit the target. Sales of consoles and games will start to slow down due to the crazy increase of PS Plus prices.

You do realize that GP is still more expensive than PS Plus.  Are you saying that Xbox poor sales are due to their subscription prices?

I do think Xbox poor sales have plenty of reasons, one of them isn't X1 reveal.

Fantastic results for Sony and PlayStation.

It looks like the PS5 has a good chance to dethrone the PS2's best FY even if they miss their 25M target. Hitting their FY23 target is riding on how well they do this holiday season. Anything less than 12M and I think they'll miss their forecast.

We had a bet on PS5 + Series X/S not hitting 56m units by the end of 2023.

The PS5 alone will do that.

Yes definitely in shipments at least. In terms of sell-through combined Is probably going to be around 83m. Basically a massive 50% higher sales than that prediction.

Pretty silly bet if you ask me, but I've seen sillier than that.

Q3 is very important for Sony.

Big news re: PS5 and Spiderman 2. Given the rough start due to COVID, will be great to see PS5 surpass PS4 on aligned launches!

First party is down sure though I'm curious how third party exclusives/timed stuff is doing. They SHOULD bundle FF16 this holiday to strengthen their relationship with Square by leveraging their place as console manufacturer. Basically guaranteeing them millions of sales this holiday and giving people an awesome game and free advertising for Square.

At this point, if Sony is looking to strengthen their partnership with Square, they need to welcome them to the family.

Nothing against a bundle with FF16 since it will even be entering discounted bin time, but those named bundles are more for launch. Maybe they may make a collection bundle with FF7R, Rebirth and 16 =p

Another strong PS5 quarter. Next quarter for the PS4 has the Pro launch in it so it will be tough to beat that though them getting a 10m+ quarter should be pretty doable with all the momentum.

I don’t believe so, Xbox poor sales are more related to lack of exclusives and the quality of the limited exclusives offered. Let me give you an example, I buy COD every year to play online. I am skipping PS Plus renewal, therefore, i am skipping COD purchase this year.

As for console, the entry cost did go up. If u are an online player, you now have to pay the console price + the new PS Plus price which can get you up to an entry cost of 620$+.

Thats why I believe that they will miss their target. The impact of PS Plus will take time as enrolled people will stop renewal any where between Sept 2023 and Aug 2024, based on when their sub expires.
