Yeah, really puts it in perspective how far Sony have fallen in Japan.
Their baseline has essentially halved.

The best Playstation year for units of hardware would have been 2008: PSP - 3.69m, PS3 - 980k and PS2 - 470k for a total of 5.14m. The worst was 2021 with 968k.

It's wild to see Sony's first 3 systems (PS1, PS2, PSP) sold over 20 million and now they barely can sell 10 million systems. Ultimately I think the PS5 will sell less than the PS4.

The PS5 in 2023 is the first time since 2011 that a Sony system sold 2M+ units in Japan. The last time a home console (PS2) sold 2M+ was back in 2005!



Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).

Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !
