Patents are "ideas" that are protected under intellectual property laws, they are NOT products... And it would be nice to see this community move on from propagating each and every single rumor, which many people end up believing as fact.

To be fair, that was how this forum lived throughout most of 2016 since it wasn't much a incredible year for the medium. The NX phenomenon was truly unique. 

In comparison, the Switch sequel isn't gonna garner the insane buzz because the internet is already expecting an iteration on the Switch, there isn't room to speculate as much

Well we'll have to wait and see if the rumor about Nintendo announcing the Switch successor at the end of this month is true. Might be, might not, we'll know when we get there.

Bruh, that rumor is obviously the most bollock thing imaginable when we know a new 2D Mario game is coming this holiday season so no. Fat chance of 0% Nintendo will say anything about the next console.

At best, I'd imagine like summer next year could seem ideal for them to present it if they are to aim for the end of 2024 but that's it.
