No, you read it right.  Politics and games are separated when I go to reset.  Where is the top two threads here include anti America daily hits.

Then hide it if you don't like it, Lol. Then your VGChartz front-page would be exactly the same as you entering ResetEra.

Fair shout. Never knew that existed till today.  Will male life better.

Reset as in Resetera? The same Resetera where you're not even allowed mention Hogwarts Legacy or Cyberpunk 2077 cos the creators have said things that don't conform to far left ideology? Where they're celebrating Charlie Kirk's murder?

Or is there some other place called Reset?

Same was true here for hogwarts.

We have 2 threads and 17 pages worth of Hogwarts Legacy discussion.

Hogwarts Legacy breaks twitch singleplayer game concurrent viewers record
Hogwarts Legacy confirmed to use DLSS on Nintendo Switch 2

And a third thread with 11 additional pages discussing how comments insulting or dismissing boycots of the game (due to concerns about transphobia) would be considered insults or dismissal of concerns against transphobia.

You can agree or disagree on that interpritation. Which we in fact had people do do in that thread for a few days (until it started going in circles). But to suggest that the same thing was going on here as on Era, I don't think that's a fair comparison.

There was an original stance that hogwarts was under limited discussion.  The position changed over time, but that was the original position.

You're probably not going to believe me but I straight up cannot remember us ever banning any discussion over any videogame.

Never said anyone got banned.  Never made that argument.  I just said there were rules here about Hogwarts, which there were.  I thought it was stupid because discussing a video game on a video game forum makes sense.  And JK's comments are not remotely as bad as people have made them out to be.  Not too mention, I believe, she sold the rights to Hogwarts so the game itself doesn't make her money.  Boycotting the game is going to get people laid off.

  • This is what Curl said: The same Resetera where you're not even allowed mention Hogwarts Legacy
  • You said: Same was true here for hogwarts.

When I say "banning any discussion" I don't mean banning users, I mean what you stated we did, which is that we didn't allow discussion about Hogwarts Legacy, that we blocked people from even mentioning it, ergo banning discussion of Hogwarts Legacy.

Strongly disagree with you on JK Rowling but this isn't really the thread for that. I'm just responding to an accusation about the Mod team in relation to the forums.

It was true at first, it was very limited with a bunch of rules around discussion.  I don't know where the original thread is, but it exists.  That is all I am saying.

What I'm saying in response is that I don't remember us ever banning discussion about Hogwarts Legacy or preventing people from mentioning it. I've asked the Mods and thus far nobody on the Mod team remembers that either. There are multiple threads on Hogwarts Legacy. Also what sense would it make to ban or limit discussion about the videogame when the writer team would write about it anyway? Lmao. We have zero control over the writing team, and all discussion would simply go there, so even IF we wanted to, it wouldn't have worked.

I don't know what you tell.  there was an entire thread about the limitations on discussing hogwarts.  No idea if that thread was deleted or people have convenient amnesia, but I know it existed.

Dismissal of or insults towards the Hogwart's Legacy boycott will be interpreted as dismissal of or insults toward concerns over transphobia.

So back in the day I couldn't have an opinion about the boycott... that is limiting discussion and mods forcing their opinion on me. It happened. And the boycott was stupid because:

"So, why doesn’t J.K. Rowling receive any money from Hogwarts Legacy? The reason lies in the licensing agreement between Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling. When Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the Harry Potter franchise, they agreed to pay J.K. Rowling a significant upfront fee for the rights to the series. This fee was likely in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

As part of the agreement, Warner Bros. also obtained the rights to create and distribute merchandise, including video games, based on the Harry Potter franchise. Hogwarts Legacy is one such game, and as it is being developed and published by Warner Bros., J.K. Rowling does not receive any direct compensation from its development or sales."

The boycott was going to hurt a studio, not JK, but nobody was allowed to point that out. Was Reset more strict? No idea, I wasn't at Reset back when Hogwarts launched.
