Forums - Sony - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

If Jason is posting about it, it's because he is up to something.

There have been a total of 0 times I can remember him being wrong, and even if it is not a proper report, if he is willing to talk about expecting it, he must know something.

It seems like there could be legitimacy to what Jason is saying. As far as first-party releases go, the last PC port was The Last of Us Part II in April 2025. Since then, it's been only Sony published third-party games like Stellar Blade, Lost Soul Aside, and Midnight Murder Club. Even in 2026 it's Death Stranding 2, Kena 2, and Marvel Tokon. Games where studios partnered with Sony, but are not first-party.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Looks like out of 2.4K reviews, Marathon's beta is currently sitting at a 3.83/5 star rating on PS Store. It was 3.9 an hour ago. No reviews for Steam as they don't allow reviews for betas.

I'll be hopping on tonight to check it out.

In a years time from now, if Yotei is still not announced for PC then we'll know our answer on this.

On ResetEra Jason said it's not speculation, it was just that he was not ready to publish a story yet, but is sure more is to come soon.

is this surprising though?

The only SP game from Sony in 2024 was Astro Bot. Lego Horizon was co-developed by GG (and that got a PC release). in 2025 it was only Yotei. What is there to actually port over?

Figured GT7 and Demon’s Souls would’ve been ported by now. Moreso the latter considering how big Soulslikes are on PC.

Reception seems to be decent to middling so far for Marathon. Game itself is getting decent feedback, but it’s almost universal that the menus and UI is terrible lol. Which, is saddening to see considering I and many others gave exactly that feedback after the last closed beta, so sounds like they haven’t changed anything in that regard.

PS Store rating is currently down to a 3.46/5 out of 4K reviews. May end up being down to 3/5 by this time tomorrow. Let’s hope Bungie is really holding back the ace up their sleeve.

One of the biggest things they should change after the beta is enabling proximity chat by default. Even though it was added to the game, it’s disabled by default and is buried in game settings.

For any PS5 RE9 players:

I'm currently playing through the older games on PC but can't wait to get to 9.

As for the recent PC rollback rumors, that would be very disappointing. I was hoping to not need a PS6 next gen if I didn't want one. At the end of the day though I just hope Sony gets their heads out of their asses and gets back to what they're good at. I was willing to keep an open mind but it's pretty clear at this point (or soon to be if Marathon and Horizon HG fail) that the live service push was a colossal failure and waste of talent and resources that would be better served making more of what PS gamers actually want.

For sure. But I imagine if they didn't happen in 2024 (2 years after GT7 released) then neither have been planned for it.

I mean, they're still releasing not only SP content every year, but GOTY nominees too. Also, vast majority of PS players are playing the likes of Fortnite etc, not Demon's Souls.
