Just got through all the trailers. A lot of good looking games but 007 and SHF were the highlights for me. Looking forward to that Yotei direct.

Glad to hear Sony (finally) had a solid SoP! I didn’t watch it (i don’t play too much PlayStation so it’s hard to know what I should be excited about), but word of mouth sounds very positive.

SGF is in a few days. Sony will obviously priortise that for any major first party games they have. But even then, Sony is announcving fewer games years in advance like they used to.
That said:
I think the SOP was good. A lot of cool stuff shown. Sony having both Nioh 3 and Tokon for 2026 is really going to help make 2026 pop for them. That's not even taking into account Wolverine and Saros, and whatever else.
With the Yotei teaser and SOP in July, I doubt it reappears for SGF. Until Dawn 2 annoucement there makes a lot more sense.
Surprised no Lost Souls Aside and Convollaria. I mean, former has been shown a few times already, so that's fair. But the latter is really MIA atm.
Ok that was great.
It was cool that 70% of the show was japanese stuff (the sony doesn't care about Japan propaganda really feels like a distant memory).
It was cool that overall all the games were good. I can't even complain about VR games because at this point those developers are like artisans doing their best for a limited market.
And it was awesome that they showed an owned service and it was actually love at first sight for a lot of people and broke the internet for good.
Yes obviously more PS Studios presence would have been nice but I very much prefer they giving Ghost their own presentation and the bomb that was Toukon than they showing a cgi of something or even worst one of their first person shooter services. I love the fact that they finally have a fighting game, it's something many of us have been asking for since they acquired EVO. I love the idea that I'll watch EVO and the following SoPs until the game releases knowing I can look forward for something that I'm actually excited about (characters reveal), Arc is really good in what they do, that game is going to be special. I found funny that in the very same event Capcom showed Pragmata release window Sony announced the game that could take a business opportunity from Capcom (rip MvC, maybe), if Capcom shows Resident Evil at the Summer event I can't blame them LOL. The only thing that kinda sucks is Nioh not being a colab between PS and Koei anymore but tbh I was expecting the next colab for 2027 so I hope they keep their relationship for another title in the future, also I would have preferred a leverless over an official PS stick but hey maybe the stick works enough for them to make a leverless.
Toukon was such a good surprise that I ALMOST regain hope in their whole service thing, at least in the products we already know are in development.
Now I'm curious what kind of involvement PS will have this Friday, the easy choice is obviously DS2 but given it'll have its own event on Sunday there's a chance it won't be in the Summer event. If it's Marathon that would be ok I mean better there than in a SoP BUT if Sony wants to apply the LEGO Horizon of last year announcing a small game that will release in more platforms than just PS day one I sure hope it's Project Gummy Bears. That would be nice.

Everyone has different expectations and different wants.
Personally I think it's a good State of Play if I can walk away with even 2 games I'm interested in.
Especially excited to see Nioh 3, and Final Fantasy Tactics. And a few other games looked interesting too.

Nioh 3 was such a nice announcement. I'm not even into the series and I was pointing at the screen and audibly said 'Nioh 3???' when the trailer was playing.
lol
Honestly, doesn't even matter to me if there's no games I want. ppl take these SOPs way too seriously if you ask me.
My highlight was Final Fantasy Tactics.
I only played the PS1 version (twice, once in 2005 and once in 2017).
I do have the game on my iPhone (War of the Lions version) but havent played it yet.
Thinking about getting this on PS5 first instead of Steam because Steam version has Denuvo. I'll get the Steam version later after they remove Denuvo.
