The Last of Us Factions basically on ice.

This whole situation is so confusing.  Factions II seemed like an easy shoe-in.  I can't fathom any of its most dedicated fans asking for more than understandable basics:

-Part II's gameplay foundation (of course)

-A decent variety of launch maps

-Avoid OG Factions' few missteps, like a couple of OP weapons (that were kinda pay-2-win)

-A non-intrusive cosmetic storefront

The more bad news I hear from this, the more I wonder what ND had in mind.

I think that is what they had going on with it, until Bungie looked at it and told them this wasn't going to be something that kept people coming back to it for years to come.

Sony should revisit The Order 1886 universe but this time make it an actual game. A Steampunk Gears of War clone with Werewolves. Single Player campaign about 6 hours then an MP mode. Not GaaS.

That would be pretty sick! I can see a studio like Santa Monica work on that kind of title. Especially since SMS supervised and supported the game, and the fact that the original developers are now owned by Oculus and exclusively make VR titles these days lol.

That just sounds too reductive though.  Sure, Bungie reportedly went over there to gauge their live-service elements, but there has to be something more about ND getting swamped by their own ambitions or something.  Was there more of a unified shared world a la The Division going on?  Were there hours and hours of cutscenes?  Like, there has to be some kind of major timesink that got their team off-track.  Even something like an online shared hub akin to Destiny can take a lot of work to get right.

Caution on twitter, some fucking losers are posting spoilers for it to troll.

I really really like using a PS5 Dual Sense on PlayStation 2. I hate PS2 controllers. It's made playing games on PS2 more enjoyable.

You mean playing PS2 games on PS5 through the internal emulator?

I'm skeptical. If it were just this it would've been packaged with TLoU2. It had to have grown in scope, which is supported by artwork showing San Francisco iirc. It's hard to say what effect Bungie had on the project. The most likely scenario was a review of ND's content pipeline not being adequate.

Regardless of the truth, I do still think that ND could get away with a simple Factions release (+ horde mode) and call it a day. But, that depends on the state of teh game currently.

Order 1886 was a great game. Had a good time with it, but it definitely wasn't worth the full asking price at launch.

Put those resources and time for TLoU Part 3 instead of a MP only game.

No. Retro bit wireless adapter for PS2. You can sync any modern wireless controller for PS2. Switch. Xbox. PS5.
