President Trump signed an executive order suspending US participation in 66 UN agencies and international organisations, including the UN climate treaty, marking a major retreat from global cooperation.

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday suspending Washington's participation in dozens of UN agencies, commissions and advisory panels focused on climate, labour, migration and other issues his administration describes as promoting "woke" initiatives.

This means the US will withdraw from 66 international organisations including the UN climate treaty framework, marking the most extensive retreat from global cooperation in its modern history.

The withdrawal from the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change — the 1992 treaty underpinning the Paris climate agreement — leaves the US as the only country outside the global climate framework. Trump, who calls climate change a hoax, withdrew from the Paris agreement shortly after returning to the White House.

What is the US exiting?

The US will also exit the UN Population Fund, which provides sexual and reproductive health services worldwide. Trump cut funding to the agency during his first term over Republican accusations that it participated in coercive abortion practices in China, claims a 2022 State Department review found no evidence to support.

Other organisations on the withdrawal list include the Carbon Free Energy Compact, United Nations University, International Cotton Advisory Committee, International Tropical Timber Organisation, Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation and International Lead and Zinc Study Group.

The administration has already suspended support for the World Health Organization, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees UNRWA, the UN Human Rights Council and UNESCO. It has adopted what officials describe as an "à la carte" approach to UN funding, supporting only operations aligned with Trump's agenda.

Daniel Forti, head of UN affairs at the International Crisis Group, said the approach represents "the crystallisation of the US approach to multilateralism, which is 'my way or the highway'".

First;  No one was standing in front of the car...

Now:  Should have stepped aside..

It is crazy, she blocked cars and they clearly wanted to detain her but she chose to not comply with the officers and tried to drive away. At that moment fleeing the scene could have been a danger to bystanders, if no shots were fired and she hit a bystander with the car  the officers would have been blamed again.

All whats happening now is making it political while it should be a Bipartisan subject. If it was a MAGA supporter in the car or a Socialist or even someone I personally know I would still say driving away it is worst thing you can do.

There is a car in front of her that was stopped.

She was waving cars to pass by the two cars (hers and the one in front)

Nobody here believes you on that.

I personally wouldn't try and drive away. The odds a bunch of people with guns surrounding your vehicle shoot, be it law enforcement, criminals, or just armed citizens, is too high to attempt to flee. Whether their bullets hit you, or cause your vehicle to break down, or they chase you down, or you by chance get away, who knows, but who's going to risk that if you're innocent?

I'm quite curious as to what details the investigation will bring to light in terms of what exactly happened here.

She was told to move. It’s too dangerous to play hero and refuse. Really the one thing that could have saved her would have been to run over that guy in front of her as fast as she could, neutralising the biggest threat.

nvm

It was bound to happen. ICE murders a woman in Minneapolis and the usual suspects all line up to defend it. Nick Shirley now has blood on his hands. I wonder how big this incident is going to get...

Why she did not stop the car tho, she literally drives away before they shoot her.  If they did not shoot her and she got in deadly accident while driving away people would complain that they did not stop her.

Honestly it is amazing how people feel it justified to assault ICE/Police/national Guard etc even with lies as 'their was no Ice/police officer in front of the Car'

meanwhile you have Facts that clearly shows a bullet went trough the windshield, how is possitble if no one was standing in the front of the car?

You are probably one of the reasons why this needs to be investigated using independent investigation team.  Its very interesting how people can watch the same video and come out of it with different opinions based on their bias.

One thing for sure is that the reason the US is a shoot first ask questions later country is opinions like yours.  Everything seems to be 0 or 100 and in those situations lethal force seems to be always the go to method.  When a police officer use lethal force, there seems to be so much acceptance where it becomes the norm in the US just like school shootings.  In every situation, the character of the person who was shot is immediately questioned but what never is questioned is how should that situation could have been prevented from needing lethal force.

Either way, its clearly shown from multiple angles of this incident that the office life was nowhere close to being in danger and 3 shots in the face pretty much proves he had ever intention of killing the woman.  Take that as you may but this probably not going to be the last incident.  Multiple officers have stated that proper procedures were not followed and even the statues for using lethal force in this situation does not favor the Ice Agent.

Anyone defending this is a psychopath. This is indefensible. Hopefully these agents are locked up for life.

Minneapolis mayor says he stands by his comments following ICE shooting

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said he stands by the statements he made on Wednesday when he told US Immigration and Customs Enforcement to “get the fuck out of Minneapolis” and said the Trump administration was pushing a “bullshit” narrative about the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent.

Frey said during a news conference today he maintains the shooting was “reckless abuse of power.”

“And you know this notion of inflammatory comments… I mean, come on, guys, you know, I dropped an F-bomb,” Frey said after a reporter mentioned that Trump administration officials were blaming him for increased tensions in Minneapolis. “I dropped an F-bomb. They killed somebody. Which one of those is more inflammatory? I’m going with the killing somebody.”

Frey also urged the public to view the footage of the shooting and not to rely on conclusions from public officials on who was responsible for Good’s death.

“Don’t take my word for it, don’t take their word for it,” Frey said. “Watch the video from every single angle.”

Parents and educators describe CBP agent clash with community members outside Minneapolis school as “horrific”

After a moment of silence for Renee Nicole Good, parents and educators with the group Minneapolis Families for Public Schools held a news conference this morning to address ICE’s impact on their communities, calling for accountability and the removal of ICE from Minnesota.

Natasha Dockter, a leader with the teacher chapter of the Minneapolis Federation of Educators, said ICE’s presence near schools was disruptive, noting the clash outside Roosevelt High School on Wednesday “violated” the school’s “safe and stable environment.”

“Immigration enforcement should never, under any circumstances, be on school grounds,” Dockter said. “They do the exact opposite of making school safe.”

“Wednesday’s event at Roosevelt was horrific and dramatic for our members, students and community,” she added.

A parent of a Minneapolis high school student echoed Docker’s concerns.

“Our children experienced repugnant behavior from federal agents with zero regard for their safety — agents carrying weapons and video cameras, tackled and abducted community members, including our teachers on school grounds,” Christin Crabtree, who is also a member of Minneapolis Families for Public Schools, said.

It is no surprise at all because people turn it into politics.

If the police had a chance to stop James Alex and shoot him I would say yes instead of him driving on and killing and injuring people in Charlotsville.
