It seems to never be enough for some people. I've spent years arguing with and criticizing people on the left, but there is always some random asshole who I've never heard of that I've somehow failed to denounce, so oops, all the centrists are fascists now. I didn't say "this random person I've never heard of said something bad" loudly enough, so this Twitter user now supports authoritarianism. |
It's also a huge double standard. There were crickets when four Democrats were shot in Minnesota, with two of them dead (and there were almost six victims - the 9 year old daughter of the Hoffmans, and another Dem lawmaker who was probably saved because the real cops showed up around the same time Boelter did). Nothing about how Republicans needed to dial down the rhetoric after years of painting Democrats as godless communists and enemies of America.
There was a 13 page thread on some Sydney Sweeney ad that I would never have otherwise known or cared about, but nothing on the spasm of outrage over the most militantly "mid" chain restaurant in the United States changing its signage after years of slumping sales. They sure as shit didn't care about Cracker Barrel for all the years its sales were going down the crapper that prompted that signage change in the first place. Even Trump had to go whine about it. If you ask me, the lady that runs Cracker Barrel should get a massive raise and a bonus. She made CB relevant for the first time since they fired Brad's wife and probably bought them a couple more years of life while right wingers go to Cracker Barrel just to prove how much they "love" it before it promptly falls back into the same state of neglect and decay.
