Well, it passed. Get ready for the American secret police to double in members and people to die from lack of Medicaid. 

Only silver-lining is that if we have midterms in 1.5 years the GOP is going to be thrashed. 

They're trying to defer the cuts, but the states and medical facilities aren't going to wait until 2026 to start reacting to this bill. 

I work for a larger Medicaid contractor and we've already have been planning since last year. 

This bill cements that all Republicans are the same, they will always bow down to Trump no matter what it is, they are a bunch of sick bastards, there is no good Republican in Congress, except apparently 2 but I don't know why they voted against the bill, likely because it wasn't extreme enough. This is why I am not convinced at all that Republicans will ever stand up against Trump.

Right now America has paused critical aid to Ukraine and lifted a few sanctions on Russia, all we have is words from Republicans of "disproval" but they will all cave. Trump could literally bomb Ukrainians on the side of Russia and Republicans would get behind him. They are the party of Trump now and nothing else, they've got zero morality.

Either become independent or fuck off.

Massie voted against it because it increased the deficit and he is a fiscal hawk. 

Fitzpatrick voted against it because of the lack of funding for Ukraine. 

Okay, one half decent Republican, but at this point anyone still in this party is sharing in its disgusting values, any Republican that doesn't switch to independent can quite frankly, piss off in my eyes.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

My plans on emigrating have changed a whole lot in those past couple of months. America went from the greatest nation on earth straight to an authoritarian shithole. Congrats to that!

Hoping that with the success of Mamdani we see a movement of municipalism with more left-wing politicians coming into power in American cities and cooperating with each-other. 

We are going to need it if we are to oppose the American secret police and if we are going to build a bottom-up anti-fascist opposition that will displace the current Democratic Party as the main opposition to the American far-right, since they are not up for the task (as evidenced by the last ten years.) 

Little more perspective

The Stasi, East Germany's Ministry for State Security, had an annual budget estimated at approximately $1 billion.

$1 billion in 1980 is now $3.8 billion with inflation.

16.7 million East Germans in 1980, 340 million in US today, so at least per capita that's 'only half' of the East German secret police budget...

Of course the $30 billion ICE budget is only a part of the total 'security' apparatus. Another $45 billion to build detention centers concentration camps. 


The KGB's annual budget was estimated to be between $6 billion and $12 billion... (about 12 to 24 Billion in today's money) ICE bigger than the KGB.

If there are still any leftists in the US. Now is the time to start getting active in your grassroots political organizations. Especially in places where you only have a paper candidate. If you don't have any kind of electoral association for your congressional or senatorial districts, contact your neighbours, make those connections, and build it up. The Democratic Party should have documentation of the internal procedural and finance laws that you'll have to comply to.

It's surprisingly easy to rise up the ranks in a political party in any country I've ever lived in. I doubt the US would be any different. AOC should be a model for all of this.

For those of you lucky enough to already have an ideal candidate, make sure you support them in whatever primaries are held next year. But the time to build is now.
