crazy thing to me is that right wing pundits (based on Tim Pool but I'd be surprised if this isn't the main talking point) describing this recent mess over the funding bill as "the american people objected to the first bill" rather than "the richest dude in the world pretty much single handedly killed it".

How much even changed between the 1st and 2nd bill or was this a typical case of Republicans creating a fake issue, then claiming they fixed it without actually changing anything? Like Trump and the border, or Trump and threatening European countries with consequences if they don't buy American oil and gas, despite Europe already buying a huge amount of US oil and gas, Lol.

Agreed.  Better than being locked into further useless spending.  If everyone would just agree to a simple funding bill of only what we need instead of shoving in a bunch of unneeded crap it should pass easily.  They refuse to do that because their hate for Trump trumps all want to do good for the people.

The original was a bipartisan bill agreed on both sides. Until Elon said something.

A lot of government funding is useless, but it always seems to me that the most useless government funding gets ignored whereas actually useful stuff is criticized.

Not sure if this had anything to do with hating Trump since the first bill was a bipartisan bill between both GOP and Dems which mind you is pretty much how the government should work.  You know both sides agreeing to something because both sides get what they want.  Then it was pulled because the new President, Musk had issues with it and then Vice President Trump chimed in just like most vice presidents following the direction of their President.  If anything the bill that was approved by everyone is basically what was presented in the first place.

Oh this is the new thing?  The man who literally can't be president is president
