Mmmmm, so it looks like Trump is not the only one who dodges a bullet lol. Dems can count themselves lucky it hardly moves the needle. Still, I guess Trump is too controversial for that event to change anything as I suppose it paints Trump as a victim, martyr, or strong man only to those already intending to vote for him. Like, if Trump is defined as the person who suggested injecting bleach to cure COVID-19 for you, then an assassination attempt on his person won't make you look at him any more favorably. And I guess Trump has accumulated too many such badly defining moments.

But still, I would worry about a stronger-than-anticipated turnover of his electorate because of it.

Trump's VP pick is so dumb and does nothing to expand his appeal.

I feared he might have picked Rubio to garner more support from Latinos or Scott to tilt some Black support his way. Hell, he would have been better off picking a woman, one of the groups that despises him most.

Nope, he goes with another unimpressive white dude. Yeah he's young but what else? Trump was already going to carry Ohio. I guess the only dumber pick would have been Burgum.

Trump's vision of leadership is clearly based on the dominance of white males, one of whom tried to take him out recently.

I think he sees Vance as the man who will carry the MAGA movement forward after he is gone.

In that sense, Vance is a dangerous man, but in the sense of helping his campaign, it likely won't help a bit.

I wish Harris was debating Trump and someone else was debating Vance (like Shapiro).

It'll be fun to see Harris destroy Vance but Biden just doesn't have the energy in him to do the same to Trump.
