That Florian dude can be a real weirdo sometimes, Lol.

So obsessed with Idas. Makes me reluctant to post anything he says, he just looks incredibly unprofessional and led by emotions.

If I'm Sony, I continue to ride this wave of Xbox negativity tbh. Not sure how... but they good at that ooof.

I'm seeing the Starfield comments on twatter. Mostly lol 30fps and still some bots think it will be 60.. going to be a loooooooong Summer.

Good to know it's only a very small vocal minority, just keep that in mind. Not damage control at all. :)

How good will the fps be on PS5 for Starfield and Redfall?

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Sony going to complain that Microsoft is advertising CoD

I would complain too, cause this 150 million figure doesn't make sense. Nor the initial "current 120 million" figure.

  • Switch = 123m.
  • GeForce Now = 20m.

123 + 20 = 143m.

Slap in Boosteroid with 4m = 147m.

Close enough to discount a margin of error. It makes sense because what they mean is 150m players have access to CoD, not that they'd play it.

Regulators (EC/CMA) care about providing people the access to the titles and then the market can decide on whether they play it there or not.

The Console SLC is gone so now we're only focusing on Cloud, Microsoft is making the case that more people would benefit than not, by doing that they establish how many more people would have potential access to CoD, if the conclusion is that nobody would play CoD on Cloud services anyway, then that just kills the Cloud SLC and the deal should pass, Lol.

Ooof, just saw the like/dislike ratio on the 3rd Redfall character trailer and it's the worst ratio yet, almost 50/50. Between the poor IGN First gameplay and now this 30 fps only news, Redfall's momentum feels like it's almost dead in the water. I think Xbox badly needs to just delay the game until like July or August, and then make a really good Redfall gameplay demo for their Xbox Summer Showcase with some professional shooter players or at least Arkane's most skilled shooter skilled employees showing the game in it's best light in co-op.

Exactly what would be the point of delaying the game.  This is what the game is and those short delays isn't going to fundamentally change it in any significant way.  The game will either be good or not based on what it currently is because the game is done.  You do not need a demo of a game releasing on GP, it either will gain GP subs or it will not.  What will sell Redfall is when it gets into users actual hands and people get to play it.  Word of mouth is way better than some glorified showcase or even a demo.  I think you guys are way to close to the fire

FF16 60FPS? when even SE are more competent than you then it’s probably time to call it quits. Should have let Redfall stay as a PS5 exclusive

Is FF16 a open world RPG.  Just wondering because saying something is 60fps and it actually playing smooth at 60fps is something totally different.  Also depending on the game, depends on how they maintain 60fps.  Its like you guys forget how development goes.  If the game is built like FFVII remake then maintaining 60fps isn't as hard as you may think since the game world is very limited.

It's not fully open-world, the game is split into areas though there are still some pretty large landscapes. I think what's made the Redfall thing a bigger issue isn't just that it's 30fps but that we know 60fps is possible because they've confirmed it's coming themselves, which just gives the impression they are releasing a game before it is ready.

Everyone will forget about this shit come June, happens every-time, Lol. The cycle of "we back" to "doom".

But I do think even more now that Xbox needs to drop the "next 12 months" because while they started the year great with Hi-Fi Rush & Age 2 and the brilliant Developer Direct they've since lost all momentum once again and with Sony reportedly doing a "Phase 2" showcase which will no doubt have a bunch of titles revealed for years out and moneyhats as well, Idk if Microsoft could get away with a "next 12 months" without some dooming.

I think they should go for as many positive beats as possible without pulling another 2018 of revealing a bunch of stuff 5+ years out. If they can get a Fable in-engine story trailer in the showcase then they absolutely should, it'd make people lose their minds, it'd be a nice update to the progress of the game as well, if they have some surprise announcements which are say mid-development then I'd say reveal those too.

If they can get us a significant Perfect Dark update then give it us, I think a lot of people would appreciate updates to these titles. I'm a bit worried also about Jez's comments on Avowed being expanded in scope, Avowed was reportedly (pre-Covid) aiming for Holiday 23/Early 24 and then Covid hit and now it has apparently been expanded in scope, if Avowed isn't early 24 then they absolutely need to abandon "the next 12 months"

We shall see though, if Starfield/Avowed/Hellblade II all look brilliant alongside some cool smaller announcements like The Wandering Tower and Project Midnight then maybe that would be enough because hey at least we'll be playing them soon and they look great. They just need to get the ball rolling on AAAs, their mid-sized projects for the most part have scored great-brilliant and 2020/2021 were strong years but the AAAs need to come now.

Still say delay Redfall to August and write off FY23...It's over, it won't be a good year financially with or without Redfall, they can try again FY24 (July 2023 - July 2024) and start it off with a three punch of Redfall/Starfield/Forza Motorsport. There's not really any financial reason to release Redfall in May at this stage, Lol.

Activision-Blizzard-King will finally be complete by FY24 as well...Even if it's complete in FY23, I doubt it closes in time to be counted in Xbox's FY23, I think Zenimax took a few months extra IIRC to start to be counted in the reports. It has also felt like ever since the ABK deal was announced, Xbox's entire focus was directed towards closing the deal so once it's finally out of the way they should put full attention on getting some of these AAAs out the door.

First things first, both Xbox and Bethesda need a complete marketing overhaul, I'm not saying to fire anyone but they are both pretty bad at marketing, they both have the issue that they sometimes barely market their titles, Xbox has an issue that they have little unity with Bethesda so it doesn't look like they are part of the same company, Bethesda sometimes markets their titles in a bad way which doesn't show them in the best light.

I think they need to create a new position inside of Microsoft Gaming whose sole responsibility will be to unify the marketing between Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks and Activision-Blizzard to ensure they're all on the same page and propping each other up. In fact, I got this idea because someone in the ResetEra thread posted about a job offer in another company for this exact role and jokingly suggested that Klobrille should apply. I forgot what company it was for but it was a marketing role to unify all products and aspects of the company together.

Xbox should absolutely take Klobrille's idea of "Xbox Originals" as well. Basically the way they advertise their games has to vastly improve. I think the Developer Direct was the best piece of marketing that I've seen from both Xbox/Bethesda in years, Lol. But that's a showcase and not individual marketing of videogames or fixing the overall brand issue.

It'll be even more important to have a unifying brand once ABK comes into the fold.

As for Starfield, I'm certain now that it will be 30fps on Xbox. You will all have to starting accepting that now Even Digital Foundry is saying that they'd be surprised if Starfield was 60fps on Xbox. ResetEra also did a poll too where the vast majority think Starfield will be 30fps on Xbox. And as I've said, I don't care.

The complaints about Redfall are understandable because it's an FPS but if I see a similar blowback about Starfield I'm going to find the complaints really sus, Lol. Pretty sure that it'll be mostly fanboys continuing on from the ammo that Redfall gave them, especially since most already expect Starfield at 30fps.

I just want Starfield, I don't care about 60fps in a Bethesda ARPG which tend to be slower paced with a lesser focus on combat, 60fps is absolutely not important at all for a Bethesda ARPG. It's also going to be one of the biggest RPGs ever as well so it makes it more understandable if it can't hit 60fps on Xbox.

People also don't give enough credit to the capability of Creation Egnine as well, it tracks the position of every single object in the game world, at all times. You can pick up almost every object, move it somewhere else, go across the map, come back and it's still where you left it and all that with physics calculations.

Now imagine that in a game with 1,000 frigging planets, the engine having to keep track of every single object in the galaxy at all times, it's going to need a ridiculous amount of calculations. If Starfield has a 60fps mode on Xbox Series X then I'll eat @NobleTeam360 pants, (underwear for you Americans).

I'm complaining about Redfall because it's an FPS. I need/want 60fps in an FPS. 30fps is horrible for fast paced FPS and Racers, it's acceptable for everything else. Also yeah it doesn't look good that it is coming post-launch, Lol. Most are asking for a delay now so just delay it.

Disney has created a new “chief brand officer” role to oversee Disney’s brand across “the entire ecosystem of company touchpoints and consumer experiences,” the company announced on Thursday. Asad Ayaz, the company’s president of marketing for The Walt Disney Studios, will be taking the post and report directly to recently returned CEO Bob Iger.

As part of his chief brand officer duties, Ayaz will make marketing campaigns “leveraging and synthesizing the company’s full suite of content and consumer experiences,” set “corporate synergy” and “franchise priorities” with Iger, and “lead a global consumer research and analytics function focused on Disney’s brands,” according to the press release.

Found it. Microsoft Gaming needs a position like this immediately once Activision-Blizzard comes into the fold.

Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks keep tripping over their own toes and often at times feel completely disconnected from each other.

Need someone above them both monitoring their every move and ensuring they're aligned with the larger Microsoft Gaming/Xbox brand.
