Yep, some 2021 footage of in development projects from an internal presentation leaked, confirming that both P3 Remake and a new Jet Set Radio were in development, at least as of 2 years ago. I bet Sony hats P3 Remake though sadly.

P3 Remake might indeed be in development but this footage looks totally fake.

Yeah I fully suspect new Persona games to be hatted by Sony. :/ Bet they did those deals long before MS started throwing money at Atlus.

SEGA hasn't been doing such deals for a long time so seems unlikely. Though, you never know with Sony.

Nah because it all could be a lie, they have became laughing stock because of the 12 month lies. Every live reaction from anyone will start with 'will they lie again with their 12 month bullshit? '

Who cares what they say?  Gaming is universally the most fraught when it comes to delays and it's not unique to any publisher.

Every sane person should care and every company who promises something but ends up failing deserves to be called out on it.
A Great company is not one that tries to attract and delight consumers with great promises but rather one who delight consumers with continuously delivering great content.

Xbox should never allow IGN to play their games and showcase them for marketing. They never learn.

I just saw the IGN gameplay for the first time and holy crap was that bad!!!! The dude is literally just running around not doing a damn thing! He even shoots an NPC to low health, doesn't finish him off, and runs off again Can IGN get any competent person to play a game during their IGN First marketing campaigns?!

I really hope this is a painful lesson learned for Xbox. Redfall has had very positive first impressions, but the marketing has been lackluster. And this IGN First footage is not helping the games case whatsoever.

Right.....and how many modern gamers would you say are actually sane?

I think you're giving the gaming community a bit too much credit

I still think it's better to keep the 12-month thing go. It seems silly to drop it because a couple games got pushed back a few months. It's really not a big deal as long as it's just outside that window.

I’m for dropping the releasing in the next 12 months thing. Xbox struggles releasing games in the first half of the year anyway. So might as well just make it 18 months instead.

I personally would love to have it be an 18-month window. Especially for the big summer showcases. Not only would you be able to cover that years holiday releases, but also tease the tentpole releases of the following holiday season. Doesn't have to show much, but could be enough to merit a trailer and a "Holiday 2024" display or something like that so fans know what else is on the horizon. First half of the year for Xbox releases are usually pretty slow overall, so it allows for excitement to build not just for that year, but the following year as well.

So then the issue is incorporating a bit more leeway in your promises.  If Phil Spencer or Greenberg say "our team & partners have sincerely targeted these titles for the next 12 months or 2023/24" upfront then they should be golden imo.

Yeah, so lets use 2023 as an example, if I was Xbox back then, anything internally planned for say, April-June, I would not have put into "next 12 months" and instead would have simply said "2023" so that likely applies to Starfield and Forza Motorsport. I've not much issue in them internally planning the showcase around "next 12 months" but I wouldn't communicate that to the general audience, Lol.

Personally, I do prefer a "next 18 months" though, I think it allows a bit more surprise and excitement, without being too far away, so lets use 2023 as an example again, it could have been Starfield/Redfall/Minecraft Legends/Forza Motorsport as Gameplay Trailers and then Hellblade II as an In-Game Trailer and Belfry with an Announcement Trailer with a 2023 tag, if those two titles are indeed 2023.

I think the "next 12 months" adds a little extra pressure to developers as well, including all those indies that were in "the next 12 months" and a lot of them now are missing their dates, Lol. I think a general "2024" tagline will give them all a slight bit more leeway, I don't think the "next 12 months" should apply to 3rd parties at all Tbh.

Also, I agree that gamers are whiny assholes who don't understand a thing about how hard and complicated game development is, and it's because of their whiny attitude as well that I'm trying to consider giving developers a little more room to work with, Lol. I think they'd be fine trying a "next 18 months" and communicating that, since looking at 2023, even the stuff delayed, the vast majority of it is hitting 2023 still.

I will say I think it’s a mistake having the Starfield Direct immediately after the Xbox Showcase. I would’ve preferred it be the day before or after so we can fully process the Xbox Showcase before diving into Starfield, but I’m excited either way!
