Game Pass Loses Quantum Break Soon

Well this is odd to say the least, Xbox owns the IP. Two possibilities I can think of:

  • Xbox sold the IP back to Remedy at some point, and Remedy no longer wants it on Gamepass
  • The game has licensed music that is expiring and Xbox doesn't think it is worth it to either extend the license or patch the game to replace the license music

This isn't a good look Imo unless either your first point is true or the title is being delisted from the store entirely.

It was understandable with stuff like We Happy Few as Microsoft didn't own publishing rights, it is somewhat understandable for Forza titles as they get delisted fairly quickly and are then essentially 'replaced' by the next Forza but Microsoft owns both the IP and publishing rights to Quantum Break as far as we know so it is odd to see it removed unless it is being delisted completely.

Didn't think of that second point.. Still not a good precedent :/

When the next Activision date? Need some good news again.

NEXT KEY DATES:

- Late March - Early April 2023: Meetings and discussions with the CMA regarding the remedies working paper.

- Late March - Early April 2023: The EC will conduct and assess the market test for the remedies proposed by MS.

April 10th 2023: The Canada Competition Bureau will update the list of merger reviews completed during the previous month (probably nothing will come out of it, but my guess is that sooner rather than later there will be a decision).

- April 18th 2023: Second extension of the original outside date. If MS quits by that date they have to pay a termination fee of $2,500,000,000; if they don't, the outside date gets extended until July 18th 2023.

- April 26th 2023: Final report and remedies from the CMA.

- April 28th 2023: Decision from New Zealand.

- April - May 2023: Decision from the SAMR in China.

- May 22nd 2023: Final decision from the EC.

- July 18th 2023: The end of the second extension and final outside date in the merger agreement. If MS quits by that date they have to pay a termination fee of $3,000,000,000; if they don't, they'll have to renegotiate the outside date with ABK.

- August 2nd 2023: Beginning of the FTC in-house trial.

- Early 2024: Decision from the FTC administrative law judge.

- Anything Beyond That: Unknown

Halo 3 Warthog Run in Halo Infinite Full Run HD - YouTube

343 please add Halo music tracks into Forge that Forgers can pick and place at certain segments. Once AI is in then we'll be close to people creating their own Campaign levels and/or recreating old ones. Some changes, should make the panels fall like in Halo 3 and 343 needs to add better explosion effects.

I wonder if they could add some sort of map linking in the future for larger maps, if they can't increase the map size, so sort of like once you reach a certain door or something during one map, it will load you straight into the next one, if something like that could be done then I don't see what would stop people from recreating almost every Halo Campaign level.

Ark 2 Delayed.

After careful consideration, we have decided to delay the sequel's launch to the end of 2024, when it will still launch exclusively on Xbox, Game Pass, and Windows distribution platforms (Steam/PC). We’ve put much thought into delaying ARK 2 for the betterment of the final product and the team's well-being. This news will be disappointing to many - we feel it too - but we’re confident this heavy decision is the right one.

So why the delay? Our goal is to make ARK 2 the best game it can be and provide a truly exceptional and rewarding experience for players. Unreal Engine 5 is incredibly new technology to us (and all developers), and we aim to use this cutting-edge tech to its fullest potential while creating a game with never-before-achieved scope at Studio Wildcard. As we learn more about the engine and develop the sequel, we have adapted our workflows and adjusted our pipelines to accommodate this new next-generation paradigm, and because of everything that involves, we need more time for development.

We sincerely apologize for this delay and genuinely appreciate your understanding. Your support and passion are vital to us, and we will continue to work intensively to deliver the ultimate next-gen dinosaur survival experience. With that in mind, we do not plan to showcase any gameplay/screenshots/videos of ARK 2 this year; however, we intend to keep you informed and engaged in the development process by regularly showcasing more ARK 2 assets in the months ahead, leading to our gameplay reveal next year.

But! Our desire to push the boundaries of what ARK 2 is on a next-generation platform has led us to the decision to create an intermediary Unreal Engine 5 ARK product utilizing some of the new technology we are building, allowing us to further our mastery of the new engine and ultimately battle-test some of our riskier technical advancements. We’ll gain a deep understanding of how well the rendering and lighting techniques work on console, what performance will be like, whether we can optimize and deliver interactive water and foliage on a widescale basis, and much more. We will deliver cross-platform modding, cross-platform multiplayer & a new account system, informing us about other changes we should consider for ARK 2. Due to the scope of all the technical and QOL changes required for such a next-gen experience, it is not feasible to make this new version of ARK backward compatible, which led us to conclude that this would need to be a separate product.

We also recognize that ARK 2 has some pretty significant design changes from the original game, which may not make it as appealing to everyone (looking at you, Souls-like combat, primitive-only weaponry, and strict third-person mechanics – and an overall “very serious” tone), which is why we feel it is essential to provide players with a fully next-gen version of the original experience to ensure that fans can continue to enjoy the ARK they know for years to come.

We’re thrilled to share this new ARK journey with you this year -- bringing players from PC, Xbox, and PlayStation together in a next-generation version of the game you love, topped off with revolutionary cross-platform modding.

Hmm...Former Microsoft Azure employee working at Asobo on a PC/Cloud project (and with a publisher?). Interesting, could be Azure considering how it is used for Flight Simulator as well. Odd no console mention though, and even if they're using Azure it doesn't necessarily mean an Xbox IP but it does seem to fit perfectly with Xbox publishing.

You should consider expanding the list to top 20 or 25 since 70% of the current list is already filled up with GP games. Alternatively, add a separate non-GP list.
