Some Things I Observed From the Most Recent Trailer. : Starfield

Lots of Gifs in here.

The animation is such a step up compared to usual Bethesda stuff. Bethesda's animation and gunplay/swordplay has always been average at best, Lol. Very nice to see. In fairness it has never been their focus, nobody plays a Bethesda title for its combat, Lol. But I'm glad they're focusing on it here.

Honestly if they weren't owned by Xbox then I would imagine it would be released already but that isn't necessarily a good thing, Xbox seems to be giving them as much time as possible to make it as polished as possible, they know how important it is to get it right rather than get it out.

Delayed from what :) Dude, this is the main issue they have when trying to announce dates. People are just creating false hopes.

They did not even announced any window/date for the next Fallout/Elder Scrolls and you are already fearing "delays" :)

September is fine, not sure for you but the year is pretty packed with amazing games.

If a studio delays a game it will also delays projects from the same team. It is a recurring theme so far.

Halo Infinite will release with the xbox series, woops will be a year later...

Redfall will release in Q4 2022 woops will be may 2023

Starfield will release 11/11/2022 woops will be 06/09/2023

I mean don't get me wrong :) I want those 2 games sooner than later (Fallout/Elders scrolls) but my point is that you are worrying about delays for games that are not even announced yet officially other than work started on Elders Scroll 6 :) It is kinda pushing it a bit too far imo haha

Lets hope Microsoft fixes their Goddamn Series X stock issues for the Series X Starfield Xbox, Lol.

I'm always of the opinion that delays are welcomed, it might be disappointing but I miss games releasing in a stable and complete form.

I was for Infinite being delayed another year xD I just want a good product. Take your time

I wonder if I'll be able to run Starfield only Steam Deck

And it's only like a 2-3 month delay from what month everyone expected anyway (June)...Although in the Xbox Empire poll, the vast majority voted beyond June for the date, Lol. We're already 3 months in the year, it's 6 months away, time will fly by. Doesn't really change much for 2023 overall either, still would be a strong year by the end of it.

I'm just gushing over the trailer like ResetEra/Reddit are, I wish we would actually talk about that

Take your time Todd, I bet the polishing and bug crushing on a title this huge is an absolutely massive effort.

He's referring to last years E3 showcase when Xbox promised that all the games shown would be released within the next 12 months. So June 2023 at the latest lol. Doesn't matter much to me, but Xbox should drop that 12 month promise.

Not sure if it was ever stated as being a promise, just like any date given without an actual set date, things can change.  I guess as always people just run with stuff like its set in stone but there are no release date set in stone or I should say there should not be.  All should be considered estimates that can change.

One thing we do not need is publishers feeling they need to release a game on a release date no matter the state of the game at that time or we get Cyberpunk to name a few titles.  Maybe MS need to post a disclaimer for people that all dates are estimates but then again, probably would do nothing for people who want to use the information negatively.

And since the 12 months stuff will be dumped, show me Fable! I don't care if it's an in-engine mood piece rather than gameplay, I just want to see it, Lol.

I'm sure it will. Bethesda games aren't usually the most demanding. Despite how amazing the game does look in the background from the announcement video.

I know I'm planning on taking Starfield around with me!

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Remind me again what the biggest issue with Bethesda games is? .. it’s bug, bugs (even tho I can’t recall a single significant bug in any Bethesda game I’ve played going back to Morrowind on the OG Fat Boy) and y’all bitching about a delay so they can **gasps** polish it more. SMDH!
