Do we have confirmation of that somewhere? The price of it was just increased today from $11.99 to $16.49. It would make sense to faze it out now the others work on PC.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is getting a BIG price increase | Windows Central

Oh wait, I guess Xbox forgot to include this in their main Xbox Wire article lol. They only mention the 3 primary tiers. PC Game Pass not included.

I wonder if this price increase is for those that were already subbed and no new subs to PC GP will happen?

The disparity between it and console is even bigger now. Before it was $12/month on PC for day one games, vs $20/month on console. Now it's $16.49/month vs $30/month. You have to pay almost double on console to get day one games like PC. OFC ultimate gets a lot of other stuff tacked in, but some people just want the day one games and aren't interested in cloud/fortnite, but have to pay it anyway.

I imagine they will faze it out at some point but when they do that won't be a good day for PC gamepass users who just want to play MS games day one.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I barely use Fortnite maybe nice for the kids and Ubisoft I barely play (found the service always overpriced) so don't really feel like I get much from it.

So all gamepass subs now have cloud, All gamepass subs now work on PC as well and Ultimate has fortnite crew and ubisoft classics included.

But.... on console you now have to pay $30/month to get day one games, instead of the $20/month ultimate was before.

PC gamepass is also increasing from $11.99 to $16.49/month.

$30/month sub? Really?

How many are going to stick with ultimate after a massive 50% price hike? Especially if they don't care about the fortnite sub and ubisoft classics.

I'm going to downgrade to Premium and save 5 dollars a month rarely play any of the EA games already own most of the Ubisoft games and don't mind waiting a year for the first party titles to end up on the Premium tier.

That's bullshit with GP Ultimate. Stuff like the Ubisoft games may be worth it a month or two a year but not to pay extra for it the whole year. To also tell everyone to pay extra for some V Bucks you can use in one damn game is also nonsense. may be cool for Fortnite players but just bad for everyone else...

Sure you can use another option but with as example Cloud gaming, GP Ultimate does get prioritized (and better quality?)

Throwing in 1,000 V-Bucks every month as a perk for GP Ultimate is........certainly a choice lol

Ubisoft+ classic is $8 a month, not $16, not sure where Klob got that from. They have no tier that costs $16, Classics tier which is mainly 2+ year old Ubisoft games is $8, Premium tier with day one Ubisoft games and most DLC's for their games day one is $18.

Edit: Seems the Xbox Wire article is what is in error, they have the $16 value listed, but the Ubisoft+ website says $8.

Edit 2: Ubisoft+ Classics is currently not on console, PC only, so I guess Ubisoft could be planning to charge more for it on console since the library is larger, 80+ games on console vs 59 on PC, but if they're charging only $2 less for Classics tier than the Premium tier, that seems like a huge ripoff by Ubisoft if that is the case.

Raising the price the month before the next CoD, and CoD being the only game that's explicitly excluded from being on the lower tiers at a later date makes me really interested to know how much damage including CoD on gamepass did for Blackops 6 sales.

Ok just got some keys for Ultimate before they also get more expensive so I'm fine for a long time now but it's still bad. These price increases the last years are crazy considering how much the payroll of people increases a year and just counting all the extra stuff into the calculation like Klob does is also stupid.

Yes it's just for PR reasons and Klob is pushing that for them. Including an $8/month subscription doesn't make the subscription worth $8/month more if you don't give a crap about what it adds.

It's like when cable tv forced you into paying for a bunch of channels you didn't want lol.
