When bad or confusing stuff happens, someone needs to blame something. Since GP is MS push and apparent main focus then it must be GP fault for everything. The thing is its a combination of a lot of different things that are taking away gamers time. You have streaming music, TV and movie services. You have mobile and free to play games and you have your big GAAS games as well. Lets also not forget touching grass once and a while. There is only so much time within the day for all the ways we can use our time and with prices for everything going up.
Then we have expectations from gamers. What is worth 70 bones. Would you rather wait until a game hits PS+, GP or another one of these services then spend your money to play the game on release. Is that mindset any different when people were willing to wait until it was on sell, discounted or used.
Either a game is a huge AAA or its a small AA like Peak. Everything in the middle just isn't getting bought because we continue to see mid level developers face a lot of layoffs because gamers have way to many options and plenty of means to just either wait or play their GAAS endless games.
