Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox |OT| Shut the Jaws of Oblivion TODAY!

Marathon is not only from Bungie which still has a great history with Xbox and the studio which gave many Xbox fans their favourite IP, it also doesn't hurt to let people know that it also comes to Xbox. Something people might forget about because Bungie is owned by Sony.

And since it's Sony's studio which pretty much works under a similar concept as MS's studios (release their games on "all" platforms) it is pretty obvious that Phil is a fan of that

Your ability to create an issue out of thin air is remarkable and should be studied by scientists. He has multiple reposts/retweets all around South of Midnight and Avowed articles, reviews, trailers, etc. But sure it's weird that he posted about Marathon after being invited to play it, Lol. Must mean he doesn't care about Avowed or South of Midnight. Fucking disgusting. This dude likes Sony more than his own studios!

Also it's well known Phil is a massive fan of Destiny, Lol.

Insulting or saying lol doesn't really add much to the discussion. It is a fact that it would mean much for the gamedevs that he would make a tweet about the release of their games, it is not about tweeting about Marathon but rather that he has not made a tweet for a long time, and when he does it is about a game that isn't from their own studios. It is also a fact that a lot of the comments in that agree with me, it is also a fact that Phil knows what does and that they choose to not have another xbox fanfest because they don't want to face the community.

Bro this is becoming sad at this stage, if you want to talk about not adding much to discussion, dumb shit like this doesn't add anything to discussion, Lol. I'm sure Obsidian and Compulsion are besides themselves that Phil didn't tweet about loving Avowed and South of Midnight. He tweeted that he was invited to play the game, thought it was awesome and people should watch the stream, Lol.

1. Phil has barely used Twitter for over a year now, even some of Xbox's own studios have made clear they hate Twitter nowadays, I'm pretty sure the California studios and Compulsion Games don't give a flying fuck whether Phil makes a single tweet on Twitter about enjoying their game or not. Probably doubled after the fact that he gave glowing praise to Tango/Hi-Fi Rush but shut them down.

2. Phil has made multiple retweets on Twitter and reposts on BlueSky about Indiana Jones, South of Midnight, Avowed, etc. He also made a post about how much he is enjoying Indiana Jones and being proud of Obsidian for their work on Avowed. I'm pretty sure we could also find him praising these games in any number of the thousand interviews he does, Lol.

It really makes zero difference to the videogame itself or the studio whether he makes multiple reposts of glowing reviews (which he has done) or makes a personalised message himself that he is enjoying the game, I'm also sure he has actually told the studio in person in the dozens of times that he has visited their studios that he is enjoying their games, but I'm sure they're broken down that he didn't tweet about it.

3. He was invited to play Marathon by Bungie themselves.

4. It's fucking Bungie, one of the biggest studios in the industry, with some of the biggest videogames in the industry, who are responsible for Xbox's biggest homegrown IP and has a history with Xbox longer than half of Xbox's current studios combined, Lol. Of fucking course he is going to tweet about their game coming to Xbox still.

5. It's well known he is a massive fan of Destiny.

6. Bungie is a Sony studio, inviting Phil Spencer to play their game, Marathon is a Sony IP, which is fully multiplatform, like Criss said, it aligns completely with Phil's current vision so there's also a bit of Phil tweeting it because it backs up his current vision.

7. You need to learn what a fact is.

What is happening here is that you're once again making a mountain out of molehill or rather, a completely flat piece of land, Lol. Fucking hell this is embarrassing dude, I know we've been through things multiple times before but even this level of reach is shocking to me. I even saw this tweet before you because it was posted in ResetEra that Phil was invited and literally not a single person had the same reach as you did, it was basically "Oh he was invited to Bungie, cool" Lol.

You're looking obsessive for any little thing to get worked up over.

Breaking News: Phil Spencer tweeted about one of the biggest studios in the industry who are releasing an upcoming title on Xbox.

Join us for the bed wetting when he tweets about Grand Theft VI next.

Even more evidence of Phil's Sony allegiance. Kind of weird!

Here he is wearing a blue t-shirt, blue is the colour of PlayStation, is Phil a secret Sony agent sent to destroy Xbox?

Alright I'm done, back to enjoying South of Midnight

Nothing wrong with it, but at the same time his inactivity towards releases from their own studios is different tho. Retweets =/= Tweets.

Looking to the top 10 most liked answers to his tweet you get obviously some over the top comments but all have a similar conclusion:

'You haven't posted for months here on Twitter and when you do it again it's to hype and say that you went to visit a studio of your competitor?
You didn't even have the courage to make a post congratulating your studios for the games they released in the last 5 months lol'

^This + the combination of Xbox having a growing list of first party games releasing with barely any fanfare or advertisement not of even from the ones on top. Good example is South of Midnight the game is barely out for a week and you can already play the 'Does it has more people playing on steam now or does the game had more people working on it'       It is a shame because the ones who play it tend to atleast like it with a 87-92% Extremely positive review number.

Phil's Reposts on Compulsion Games.

Phil's Reposts on Doom

Congratulating Indiana Jones

Phil Posting About Indiana Jones

Phi's Reposts on Indiana Jones

Phil's Reposts on Avowed

Phil Saying He is Looking Forward to The Outer Worlds 2 (Exact Same Shit as Marathon!)

I'm sure there's about a dozen interviews where he praises upcoming Xbox titles too but I sure as shit ain't wasting my day listening through hours of videos just to prove a point. Though I know for certain he did an interview in February 2025 where he said "I'm really looking forward to Avowed" but oh he didn't tweet about looking forward to it, Obsidian must be devastated.

But honestly? Actions speak louder than words at this stage and the best thing Phil can do is simply continue to support these studios to make great videogames, I'm sure his tweet is worthless to many of these studios at this point, when you tweet about how amazing a studio is only to shut them down a year later. I very much doubt that any of the studios are concerned about Phil's tweets, especially some of the more left leaning studios whose leadership have openly talked shit about Twitter over on BlueSky, Lol.

Some of this angry obsession over what Phil does/says is getting kind of fucking weird at this stage, Lmao. We also go from "Phil talks too much" to "Phil doesn't talk enough" to "I don't give a fuck what Phil says" to "I want to hear Phil say this!". Some execs don't bother posting about what they're playing/looking forward to at all, maybe Phil should be more like that.

NOW I'm done with the discussion because this is truly one of the most ridiculous discussions I've ever seen in this thread and this quality of discussion is seriously the most convincing argument for me to get supporter for one particular feature, Lmao. You're becoming obsessed, it's becoming WEIRD. I don't give a fuck what a few Twitter dregs are crying about either.

Atomfall Has Attracted 2 Million Players Since Launch - Insider Gaming

But it "only" had a 6,095 CCU peak on Steam 🤯

Lost interest when I saw people saying how stealth focused it is but may try it sometime in the future if I have nothing else to play, but I still have Stalker 2 on my backlog which I'm trying to plan for when I have a large gap between releases, Lol. Plus a few other Game Pass title which I've downloaded in preparation for playing them at a later date (Control, Tunic, etc).

Just fuck already.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

It has lots of customizable difficulty options so you can play it more like a shooter.

I'll maybe try it out once I get past South of Midnight, AC Shadows, Stalker 2, Oblivion Remaster, Expedition 33, Revenge of the Savage Planet, Doom The Dark Ages. 😅 I don't think there's anything I'm interested in for June/July...Yet.

Finished 3. chapter of South of Midnight now. I really like the game and that song playing around the end of the chapter in combination with the story unfolding gave me chills.

Gameplay could be little bit better and I had to restart once because I clipped into the ground and couldn't move anymore but the rest is great.

I really hope they will be allowed to keep working on games like this. They just need some in the team to be able to deliver more in the gameplay department and their next game could be a real banger
