Ayway, at 67 hours I finished Avowed, I will write up full impressions soon, but I loved it.

No way I'll get close to 67 hours.

Still in the first region with tons of fog left.  I'm over 20 hours already.

This will be over 100 easily for me on just the first play-through.

Tried to talk about the Monolith news yesterday, but the site was down every time I checked. Anyway, f*ck WB Interactive. They force Monolith to make a live service Wonder Woman game after Shadow of War, knowing that live service games take longer to develop than singleplayer games and therefore will have a larger budget. Then when Suicide Squad flops as live service, WB realizes that they screwed up by chasing GaaS on most of their studios, and decide on a reboot of Wonder Woman to remove the GaaS elements. Then a year later they decide the budget is just too high after 7+ years of development and shut down Monolith. That is a publisher making a studio pay for the publisher's own short-sightedness, infuriating.

Hopefully some other publisher has the good sense to scoop up the Monolith talent for a new studio. What sucks the most is that WB still holds the copyright to the Nemesis system, only now no studio will be using the Nemesis system most likely (unless WB gives it to Avalanche, Rocksteady, or WB Montreal for their next games). The most innovative gameplay system of the 8th console generation, perhaps trapped in copyright limbo now, infuriating.

Indiana Jones got a small discount (20%) on Steam and shot up to #12 best sellers on Steam, Lol.

People say Monolith hadn't released a game since 2017 but they never had a chance with that piss poor mismanagement by WBIE.

And the head of WB Games happens to step down right before this happens lol. Monolith was quite the trailblazer studio for so long. From having a competing game engine against the likes of Unreal and id Tech with LithTech, to creating a groundbreaking franchise in F.E.A.R. to creating the Nemesis system that WB decided to lockdown and has done jack shit with since copyrighting it and won't be available to others for another decade, to this. Has to be one of the biggest fumbles ever.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

As for the Fable delay, that was perhaps a justified move by MS. For one thing, it would be kind of silly to release 3/5 first party RPG's they had in development all in 2025. But also, 2025 is looking crowded in general, lots of big releases currently scheduled for the 2nd half of 2025 when Fable would have released, Borderlands 4, GTA 6, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Ninja Gaiden 4, Crimson Desert, Metroid Prime 4, Ghost of Yotei, etc. And of course it's possible that it wasn't just a strategic delay to find a better release window, maybe Fable actually needs the extra polish time in spite of how long it has already been in development for.

Technically would have been 4, I know it's not new, but Oblivion Remaster, Lol.

Avowed, Oblivion Remaster, The Outer Worlds 2 all in 2025.

So 2026 will now be Fable...Maybe Clockwork Revolution?

I love how different all their RPGs are as well.

Yeah I'm barely finishing up Ninja Gaiden 2 Black later tonight or tomorrow, then I'm juggling between KCD2, Avowed, and now Like A Dragon and this is just the start of the year!

At least I have a month before Atomfall releases. And for only $50, looks like it'll be a much smaller overall package to finish before South of Midnight releases.

So many games 2025-2026

Side note: Xbox has no games --> Fable delayed for day one PS release, and non-stop port begging for everything Xbox.
