Here I was wondering about Playground releasing 2 games in 1 year, but it was Obsidian all along!!

They may both have 2 next year honestly. I'll be shocked if FH6 is 2026, that would make its dev cycle 2 years longer than any previous Forza Horizon.

Honestly, TOW2 has a much stronger likelihood of actually releasing in 2025 than Fable does.  I'm banking on Fable likely releasing in late 2026.

Yep. Way back when they first announced TOW2 at E3 in one of their interviews they said it would release sooner than people expected. The LinkedIn profile for the director says he was working on it since 2019, months before TOW1 even released.

Fable by comparison, Playground was very slow at building up their RPG studio and it seems like a bigger budget affair. Won't be surprised if it ends up delayed to 2026.

I just skimmed trough it and the only thing that really excite me is the Okami sequel.

In retrospect kind of funny to see so many say that 2024 will be quiet for PS5 but damned they went out like hell so many games at the award show even are not available for Xbox and Astrobot deserved the GOTY award (if ony xbox had an platform character that is beloved). Again proving that Sony Playstation goes for the 10/10 while xbox doesn't.

Edit: Oh yeah congrats for BG3 and Larian aswell now that is a studio that has a heart for gamers..

I feel like SEGA really missed an opportunity making a sonic racing game and not another all-star one with all the reboots coming up it would've been good promotion. Would've been nice to see the new designed Beat and Gum racing alongside other SEGA IPs.

SEGA doesn't get it. They think we only disliked it being team-based. No, it was Sonic only. All Stars was great as it celebrated all of SEGA. Which is far more interesting than fucking Sonic which is worn-out shoe at this point. The underwear is barely a waistband and a string at this stage.

Give it a rest for once or move to PlayStation already and save us all the snide remarks.

Obsidian is an absolute fucking machine, I made a post the other day wondering if The Outer Worlds 2 would be 2025 because of the leaked plan to release one title per year, in light of Avowed being delayed due to scheduling reasons it would have meant something else may have been planned for 2025 before Avowed's delay but I wasn't really that seriously thinking it was a possibility! I know Avowed and The Outer World teams are entirely separate though, about 100-150 each and The Outer Worlds 2 can probably utilise a lot of asset reusing.

If Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 both make 2025 then Obsidian is cementing their status as a GOAT developer if they already haven't. Now imagine if Playground Games actually manages to release both Fable and Forza Horizon 6 in the same year, I was thinking about how if that would happen then it would be like a competition between two of Xbox's best studios, 2 for Obsidian and 2 for Playground but I don't dare to dream that crazy, Lol. Now I'm starting to hope that GTA 6 fucks off into 2026.

Xbox's 2025 is bonkers so far.

  • Avowed
  • South of Midnight
  • Doom The Dark Ages
  • Call of Duty
  • The Outer Worlds 2
  • Fable

Since May they've been hitting a title per quarter - Q2 was Hellblade II, Q3 was Age of Mythology Retold, Q4 was Black Ops 6, Flight Sim 24, Indiana Jones. Then Q1 will be Avowed, Q2 sounds like it will be South of Midnight and I personally expect Doom in May as well. Q3/Q4 will depend where GTA lands I reckon but they're on a roll lately. Largely AAAs as well, aside from Age of Mythology Retold.

Well, they're still working on a "super game" which to me screams crossover but who the hell knows with SEGA lol could be a sonic MMO or something...

Onto the multiplatform stuff.

  • The Witcher IV - I FORGIVE YOU CD PROJEKT RED I'M A STAN AGAIN Jk. But that was an awesome trailer, I smiled when the music kicked in. Looks like Ciri got the Witcher augments? There was some debate amongst Witcher fans who we would play as, whether it would be Ciri or a original and/or new protagonist, it's nice to confirm it with this trailer but I suppose that means Ciri has been nerfed by quite a bit, I hope they have a good in-game lore reason for her nerfing, it was the biggest argument against playing as Ciri that we would be too OP.
  • Borderlands 4 - Looking forward to it, if only for the gameplay which is always fun, at least the villain looks and sounds better far better than the TikTok kids from Borderlands 3. Hopefully the story overall is much better written, I can't even remember most of Borderlands 3 Tbh. Also it being on a new planet is interesting. Surprised it's 2025.
  • Split Fiction - Looks awesome and really unique! I absolutely love the concept, especially the switching between fantasy and sci-fi worlds!
  • Project Century - I was thinking "This is giving me Yakuza vibes" before I even knew the studio developing it, Lol. Looking forward to learning more. Does this studio ever sleep? And WTF they're developing the new Virtua Fighter as well.

Asian Support for the Weebs: Project Robot (Fumito Ueda), Ninja Gaiden: RageBound, Shadow Labyrinth, Onimusha Way of the Sword, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds - Platforms weren't announced for a few titles like Project Century and the new Virtua Fighter but I'm pretty certain they will both be on Xbox at minimum. Also Okami didn't have platforms announced.

One Move Away reminds me, bring House Flipper 2 Game Pass! That Pac Man Secret Level episode suddenly makes sense now. Turok Origins...I keep getting close to that Single-Player, Action-Adventure Dinosaur title I've wanted but then they always do something I don't want, like make it Co-Op, or make it robots, Lol. Dispatch could be a fun concept.

I'm glad I didn't stay up Tbh, don't feel like I missed out and I don't feel like shit the next morning, Lmao.

Watching all the trailers without all the ads is nice.
