214 games is over 2x the amount I’ve played in total on this account and 146,772 is more gamer score than I’ve accumulated since 2019 LOL.

Well so far 2022 is my worst year since 2018. I still have a few days left to beat 2019 though (only about 2k Gamerscore left which I could easily get by just finishing two quick 10 minute completions).

One game usually can't hold my attention for long so I'm mostly playing 3-5 games in short bursts at the same time. Currently Lego Star Wars (just finished Episode V), the free DLC for Marsupilami: Hoobadventure (quite good game that reminds of the 2D Rayman platformers) and the DLC for Vampire Survivors.

Most of the time though, I'm only playing them for a short while to get a first taste and then come back to play them just before they leave Game Pass or likely never in case I own them.

MS is buying Netflix after the ActiBlizz deal closes?! I don’t see that happening lol

It's just a prediction, I still strongly doubt it, I don't think there's anything that points towards it and there's more than a few 'issues'

1. Microsoft has $107bn cash on hand, Netflix would likely cost around $180bn+ on the market when adding the premium, Microsoft would therefore either have to use stocks for the rest of the acquisition which isn't something they usually do, or rise a significant amount of extra cash, either way, a decent chance they blow through their entire cash in the bank.

2. Microsoft has never really expressed any desire in getting into this business and by that I mean the Hollywood/Film/TV business. They may want to expand since Xbox is their only consumer facing business but I feel like they are happy with that, I think they're happy with being a corporation first business, it's where they make all their money, I would be happy if that changed though, Lol.

3. Netflix's profit margins are way below Microsoft's which is probably an issue when you're acquiring a near $200bn company. Film/TV in general has slimmer profit margins than Games, for example, ABK Net Income in 2021 was $2.6bn in comparison to Netflix's $5.1bn but Netflix would cost more than $100bn extra to acquire.

4. It for those reasons is a bit of a risky investment, especially if other streaming services kick off, Netflix is great but also very lucky that they got in first. It might also be a factor to Microsoft who looking at Xbox loves owning their IPs, that a lot of Netflix's shows, they don't actually own the IPs for. You could say that Xbox has the IPs but few are proven in TV and already assigned elsewhere (Paramount, Amazon, etc).

After ABK, I want more Xbox money, so hopefully no Netflix.

Would rather Microsoft went for Warner Bros/DC if I had to choose though, at this rate they're going to be sold off again in a few years, they've probably had more owners than anyone in the industry, Lol. They may not have as many subs as Netflix but that's mostly been due to lack of desire/effort and incompetence from the owners, plus Netflix being first, Zaslav being an idiot, in reality though, Warner Bros/DC have IPs just as strong as Netflix but they're ran poorly.

They'd likely cost less than half of what Netflix would, especially if it doesn't come with Discovery which I don't think it would and if they dump news focused stuff which they wouldn't need. Warner Bros/DC together would probably be around $30-$40bn with a market cap of $22bn...There is the 'small' matter of $50bn in debt but debt can be paid off later and is no issue for Microsoft, in reality Microsoft would only be dropping about $40bn in cash rather than blowing through it all on Netflix.

They have more synergy with Microsoft, for example, they have a significant gaming division which would be great for Game Pass and that division is profitable, Microsoft could potentially do cool stuff with the amusement parks with Xbox/Bethesda IP. Decent chance that Netflix would be blocked if they don't shut down their gaming division as well, it could be seen as Microsoft acquiring and extinguishing a new potential competitor since Netflix's streaming service is exactly that, a streaming service for games and now they're exploring a Cloud Gaming service as well.

Probably be a lot easier to pass WB/DC through regulatory bodies than Netflix.

Hey look at giant Netflix, so Activision Blizzard doesn't look so big anymore. Then no one bats an eye at all the smaller acquisitions soon after.

They have no interest in Netflix.
