I owe you one for sharing this when you did. For whatever reason I'd not bothered to look into the gameplay before then. Then seeing it was close to launch I checked for a physical release, noticed it even had a collector's edition and the only version left available was on Xbox. Luckily I pre-ordered on the spot because it was de-listed/sold out the next day.

Sometimes if that happens you only get an email not long after saying, "sorry but we actually don't have enough stock etc.etc.", but now that it's shipped I can rest easy.

I mainly just try to post new game announcements, release date and launch trailers from the youtube Xbox channel.  I try to not be biased and post all that I see, even though many of the games aren't ones that I am necessary interested in or will ever play.  I basically just try to get all Xbox related stuff into this thread to have it all in one place for others that visit the site.  Unicorn Overlord caught my eye from the beginning and having the different layers of complexity to the gameplay just really drew me in.  The little mini-gameplay tutorials built my hype as well.

There are some kiddy games I don't post on here but I probably should. I'm sure there are family men and women that have smaller gamer children that may enjoy seeing what may be new and suitable for them.

I'm glad not all my posts are wasted efforts, lol.

Eeeeh let’s not pretend Xbox fans would buy FF7 if it came to Xbox, I doubt very much SE is losing millions, probably the equivalent of a weeks worth of Tesco meal deals.

Eh, FF15 did 1.5m+ on Xbox as I recall. So I'm thinking 1m+ per FF7R game on Xbox they are missing out on. That's over 3m units between all 3 games. Switch 2 meanwhile will have the specs to run both Remake and Rebirth with relatively little porting work, so Square is also missing out on millions of units between all 3 FF7R games on Switch 2.

I know that Xbox is behind PlayStation in sales but that whole "Xbox players would not have bought it anyway" argument is stupid when there are other Japanese studios thriving while releasing all their big games wherever they can, there is a reason why Capcom is in a higher position in comparison to Sqeenix. Then you also have Sega putting their 1st party games on Xbox the majority of which are franchises smaller than FF.

FF7 Remake was literally their break glass in case of emergency game and they sold it to PlayStation how are you going to grow your #1 IP and flagship franchise when you limit it to one Platform, maybe the Sony money was too good to ignore but I doubt it.

Creatures of Ava is a Creature Saver game in which you will have to help creatures escape from an infection that is rapidly growing on the planet Ava, threatening to wipe out all living beings. Your goal is not to collect the creatures for your amusement nor hurt them — your goal is to save them.

One of our overarching goals when developing the game was to make it non-violent while remaining really fun to play. From the outset, we’ve been captivated by the notion of saving creatures from a distant planet, not for any utilitarian purpose, but simply because they’re sentient beings deserving of compassion. With that vision in our mind creating a non-violent game was essential. However, this initially proved to be one of our biggest challenges, until we settled on the flute as one of the key mechanics in the game — that really helped us realize our goal. Let me explain….

You play as Vic, a human explorer of the rescue team sent to planet Ava to save all living beings before an inevitable catastrophe. In order to save them, you will be forced to leave behind all technology and learn the local customs of the native people of Ava, who have a deep spiritual connection with the planet and all its life forms. Music is their common way of communicating and you must learn how to play the traditional flute of the natives, harmonizing with the beat of Ava.

Using flute skills, Vic can communicate with these creatures and see what they see. They can also request their assistance to figure out puzzles that involve Ava’s surroundings and the natural world. By imitating the sounds creatures make with your flute, you will be able to gain their trust, and then connect to see through them. Connecting with creatures allows you to see from their point of view and control it to interact with different parts of the environment by using their unique traits and abilities.

Vic can also use her time in Ava to investigate the infection, learn its origin, and try to stop it. A special staff – called Nafitar – from an extinct Ava civilization will allow her to cure the infection growing in the environment, as well as the one growing on the creatures.

The infection renders creatures aggressive, which challenged us to find a way to implement unique, non-violent combat mechanics. For example, you use the staff to absorb the infection while dodging the attacks of frenzied creatures. The result is you’re simply cleaning the infected part of the enemy, which is not fatal for the creatures.

Xbox Partner Preview - How Creatures of Ava Places You in the Role of a Creature Saver - Xbox Wire

Remember when some people lost their minds at Everwild being "no-combat/violence" and couldn't wrap their heads around how it could work? It was like "No! We can't have no combat! That's boring! I need to be able to shoot or stab something!" Lol.

This game sounds and looks great, one of the highlights of the showcase.

WB shut down Rooster Teeth today. Can't really say I'm surprised, Rooster Teeth has been going downhill for awhile. Still sad to see them die, even if they were just a hollow shell of what they used to be.

They were not even close to the same company that they used to be, it's sad but this was inevitable for a couple of years now.

It was more aimed at Square Enix other than the other Japanese studios. Capcom, Sega, Konami, From etc have all earned their fan bases on Xbox. Square just give the Xbox urchings whatever scrap ends they don’t have need for anymore.

My heart jumped when I saw the SE logo but sunk so deep when it was just FFXIV...  Expected minimum Octopath 2 tho..

I am very mixed about the show, great that it did happen (now only need an indies one) but don't felt amazed by it, feels Xbox division is not doing much with their partners?

???

They gave spotlight to games from Square Enix, Capcom, Sega, Bandai Namco, EA, Nexon and there were multiple indie developers in there too.

It was heavy on the Asian focus...Thought you'd be all about that, Lol. I think we'll get a Square segment at the June showcase Tbh, but I'd also not be surprised if Octopath 2 is randomly announced at anytime from now until now by Square Enix, Lol.

Cause it felt like a show made by some xbox people who just went to some partners and ask if they may show the game during a partner showcase.

While it would have been nice to show 'new' partners who bring games to xbox/Gamepass....

And best of all investments you made in studios projects with partners 'Contraband//People can fly game etc'

Edit:

Wanted to get the stalker collection but 39.99 ...hmm wait for a sale not sure if I like the games...

Got some scraps instead:

BC rearmed 2
Lost Planet 1
Beach buggy racing 2
Lost Planet 3

Also, they changed the rewards points, before it was 5 € = 4650 pointish/Now it is  5€ = 5170 pointish..

Lol, I seriously don't understand your first point.

As for the other point, Contraband is 1st party, this is a Partner Preview, it has never been about 1st party, it has never shown 1st party, they've made clear already that these Partner Previews are strictly about 3rd parties. People Can Fly will also be 1st party, those are only shown during Developer Directs or main showcases (E3/Gamescom/TGAs).
