So I watched/listen to it and it was pretty much what I expected. The new high end system will be aimed at the extreme enthusiasts because there’s no way that thing ain’t £600+ who pretty much main Xbox systems regardless. The four games are no loss to me as I didn’t play 3 of them, shame I can’t double dip on Starfield (yet) … and yeah doesn’t change anything for me.

Well technically we dont know which four games yet. I mean it was prooved that we cant trust leakers on this.

The leakers are the ones who forced MS to admit they are planning to go multi-platform in the first place, lol. So I would actually give them some credence. If they didn't leak things, odds are MS would have said nothing today. They were forced to have to do this.

Grounded and SoT are massive tentpoles or Xbox. Them putting these live service games on other platforms looks to also be strategic is suffocating some of the competitions' own GAAS. Only so many GAAS you can play. Kind of a bold move honestly.

I'll be honest, if Sony's live service games are getting overshadowed by Sea of Thieves or Grounded, they never had a chance lol.

Where y'all coming from with these takes? Lmao.

Grounded and Sea of Thieves are quality games, Grounded had over 13m players, Sea of Thieves had over 30m and has sold millions on Xbox and PC individually, with an average rating on Steam of 90%. You're speaking like we're still in 2017, Lol.

But the Xbox hardware has a low ceiling and Sea of Thieves has likely hit a saturation point for Xbox hardware, the biggest GaaS titles in the world aren't restricting themselves to a single platform, it makes sense to port GaaS everywhere after they're hit their saturation point on other hardware (Sea of Thieves still sells amazing on Steam) but again, Xbox hardware has a ceiling, it has likely been played by almost everyone who is going to play it at this point on Xbox.

PlayStation will add millions more.

Its like Nintendo wanting to expand their audience by releasing Box Boy on the Xbox. Im sure its a nice little game, but thats not what is going to get people to buy Nintendo consoles. Mario, Zelda and Pokemon would. Thats all Im saying. I think MS should just keep all their games exclusive to Xbox and PC instead. Makes the Xbox look better with more exclusives.

Does it make Xbox look better.  You just named a few games on Nintendo system but can you name or even care about 50% of the exclusives that come to the system.  That goes the same for Playstation.  Its not about the quantity its about the quality.  The staples that define your console is what make consumers purchase the system.  Some games really just need a bigger audience and if they are successful on other platforms, the sequel will make you want it more but are you willing to wait 2 years before you get that sequel is the case.

If I love the game, then yes. Now I have played Gears and Halo, so it wouldnt convince me of anything. Indiana Jones and the new Doom has me interested though.

So you would argue that Pentiment and Sea Of Thieves have just a big of a chance to succeed on PS5 and Switch as Halo and Gears? Im not really sure what youre argument is.

Well that's my point then, if you do not know those games... But are calling them Game Pass fillers, this is just weird.. :)

Again, why do you keep calling those games "nice little games" lol...

Sea of Thieves and Grounded are not just nice little games. That's where you are wrong esp. Sea of Thieves, the more players, the better it is.
You are having an argument about games that you did not even try or know.. This is so weird.

And Xbox is already looking good, and we are already aware of many exclusives coming to the Xbox, so why not do both?

In case it is needed... Avowed, Fable, new Flight Simulator, Hellblade 2, Indiana Jones, etc... The list of announced or known exclusives on Xbox is probably bigger than any other platform at this point.

No they weren't, this was planned for February since last year, all the leakers did was cause them to bring it forward.

The leakers spread a bunch of nonsense and caused massive overreactions.

As of now, they're not "going multi-platform" anymore than they already were, a case by case basis for titles years after release on Xbox.

I dont get this strategy at all. Sounds like its just more about getting a few more sales for certain games than actually growing anything.

I tried explaining this to you earlier. lol Have certain Xbox games, whether smaller niche games or live service games on other platforms that allows for some additional sales, expose players to the kinds of games Xbox makes, players see games like Indiana Jones and Starfield are on Xbox, BAM, new potential Xbox console customer.

If you send your major system selling IPs like Gears of War or Halo to competing platforms, you're massively devaluing the console.

Well you have to give people a taste of what your console is about. I mean how many games like HiFi Rush and Pentiment are Xbox really going to make?

@NobleTeam360 asked me for this (I didn't think it was neceessary but lol, ok)

5PM Est Tonight...

I will be addressing my future on Xbox. Stay tuned.

I dont think you get what Im talking about. Maybe Im just not in the loop anymore. I just though Halo and Gears were still bigger than Sea Of Thieves and Grounded, but maybe that has changed since I played on Xbox.

Quick Recap

Games
-Four games will be ported to other consoles. No promise of any other games.
-They were not announced today. The teams will announce them on their own time.
-Starfield and Indiana Jones are not part of the four games.
-The driving goal was to grow the franchises.
-Overall, Phil believes exclusive games in the industy are going to less common going forward.
-The decisions was based on games being at least a year old, have already reached their full potential on Xbox.
-Some are "community driven" games. I assume that means GAAS/live service games.
-Phil believes that introducing non-Xbox gamers to these franchises can be beneficial to Xbox as a whole.
-The focus is always "How to grow Xbox".
-More than 10 major releases coming this year to Xbox.
-There will be a June Showcase.

GamePass
-All first party games are still going to be day 1 on GamePass.
-GamePass is still only available on Xbox.
-Cross-save and cross-progression are very important to the Xbox ecosystem.
-Activision-Blizzard games will start to come to GamePass on March 28th, starting with Diablo IV.

Hardware
-Xbox gaming isn't just about one device.
-New devices are planned for Holiday 2024.
-They are working on next generation hardware.

Misc
-2023 was a great year for games, but the industry didn't grow.
-It is either "How to we grow the user base" or "How do we get more dollars from our current base"

Bunch of Xbox fans look like clowns right now, I'm talking about Jez's initial reaction and TimDog.
