Twitter/ResetEra, unless you believe that nobody is excited to play any of these games on Switch/PS5?

Some of it is definitely trolling, but a lot of it seems like genuine excitement to me.

I can see people excited for some. Like Starfield and Indiana Jones. I think people who wants to play Halo, Forza, Gears etc already have an Xbox or are playing them on PC. Just seems weird to me that PS and Nintendo fans are super excited to play 4-15 year old Xbox games.

I dont see it happening either way tbh. I dont know what MS is planning, but Im sure the rumors are way overblown at this point.

Err.. not quite. This is a recent article from Push Square:

Thats fair, but Im not sure this is proof that PS fans are begging for them. Seems like a poll just for fun.

It's funny to see PlayStation fans port begging despite the discourse online about Xbox 1st party games, the funniest comment I saw is that "Starfield sucks again" after Nate backtracked on the rumor lol

All of a sudden people were cured of their motion sickness when they heard the possibility of Indy coming to PS5.

PS first party looking pretty dry this year (and last year) so they might need something to cling to at this point.

Edit: Granted, Sony has locked down some 3rd party moneyhats so that could satisfy them while Sony First party cooks.

Well, they have a few publishing deals as well this year.

Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Helldivers 2 are published by Sony.

Kind of surprised that Elder Scrolls and Fallout didn't do better considering several previous games in each series were on Playstation. Even Indiana Jones was ahead of them.

King of Yakuza.

(Exposed a dent) jk pimp.

I wonder what's next in the pipeline for Like a Dragon.

Would love:

Yakuza 3 Kiwami (probs not going to happen)
Judge Eyes 3 (Located in Hawaii) - Wouldn't mind a crossover with Yagami and Ichiban!!
Dead Souls? Is this the last Yakuza game to not get localized?
Like a Dragon 9
Another spinoff

Crazy how within a year or a little more they have managed to release all three of their projects and now we have nothing left

Can't wait to see what's in store for RGG!

It would be cool to see Kenzan get the remake treatment like Ishin did, it is actually the only one not localized, but I don't know if Ishin remake had the sales to justify it, sales seemed tepid to me, with only like 67k first week in Japan, 85k by the 4th week in Japan, and an unknown number of western sales (Steam Spy has it in the 100-200k range, and on Xbox the day one Gamepass release will have cannibalized some sales, so unless western sales on PS4 and 5 were amazing, I doubt Sega was all that pleased with it's performance).

Dead Souls was released outside of Japan 9 months later, it just flopped with the lowest reviews in the series by far (64 meta when the rest are high 70's or above) and fairly tepid sales, so I doubt they will give it a modern remaster or remake.

I would love to see Kiwami 3 because 3 badly needs the Kiwami treatment, it's really showing it's age. Papa Kiryu deserves a proper remake treatment.

Judgment 3 seems like a no-brainer to currently be the next game in development at RGG Studio (they supposedly have one more game releasing in 2024 with no games currently announced). Before, back in 2021 or early 2022 we had heard they were considering cancelling Judgment 3 due to a conflict with Yagami's actor's talent agency over PC releases for the franchise, the agency was worried that PC modders would ruin the actor's image with nude mods and such, but Sega and the talent agency resolved that dispute and Judgment 1 and 2 both released on PC in September 2022, so Judgment 3 should be coming since Lost Judgment sold well.

Oh ok, nice to hear. Didn't know that about the other non localized game. Would love Kiwami 3,4, and 5. Hope they re-do the hostess minigame, as 3 and 4 (can't remember if it was in 5 were awful). Bring back the hostess MANAGEMENT minigame.

Crazy to think they really have another game releasing this year if that's true... Wow. Very excited for this studio.

Looking into it more, they only confirmed the announcement of their next game will be in 2024, not the release. But it definitely seems possible they could release a 2nd game this year, afterall RGG studio has released as many as 4 games in one year in the past, and since 2018 they have released more than 1 game each year except for 2020, where Covid likely delayed their 2nd game for the year into 2021. Lost Judgment was 2021, so I would assume that Judgment 3 by that team can make 2024 with 3 years of development, considering Lost Judgment itself was made in 3 years, and during Covid for much of that time.

And yeah, Hostess management definitely needs to come back, I enjoyed it in 0, Kiwami 2, and 4. Best minigame in the series, and I love the Hostess Management song in Yakuza 0, the song by Japanese Mariah Carey as the fans call her. Even with her poor English, it's such a good song because her singing is just so damn good and full of passion.

By the time I catch up to Like a Dragon/Yakuza, there will be another 10 games to catch up to.

New rumor out that the Surface team will be designing the next Xbox hardware. This raises a lot of interesting questions for me:

1. Will they stick with AMD, or consider a different hardware vendor? Microsoft has an extremely lucrative relationship with Intel, and now that intel has been making a hard push into the GPU and AI space that could be an intriguing option.

2. Will Xbox go back to being one device, or will it balloon into many devices?

3. If it’s many devices, will one of those devices be mobile/handheld? Or perhaps something hybrid like a switch?

The third one in particular is really intriguing to me. They could mitigate a lot of the negatives of going third party for a lot of their games by having the option of a hybrid console like a switch or steamdeck. Frankly, I would vastly prefer something like that to an expensive and bulky gaming laptop, and that would do a lot to keep me in the Xbox ecosystem
