Which was?

I'm just curious on their stance for upcoming consoles. If next Xbox is more like a PC and more accessible that was, I wouldn't be that upset. Hope they start to bridge the gap of Xbox and PC somehow.

That it's coming to PlayStation, Lmao.

Nate said the info was either bad info, or good info gone bad.

He no longer believes Starfield is coming to PS.

And FWIW Nate admits his own Starfield info was bad too because he also corroborated it.

So something he's heard now makes him believe the info was junk.

I really feel like the only way this is clear is if they say "All ABK titles multiplatform day one, all Zenimax titles timed exclusive, XGS titles exclusive with the exception of GAAS and Smaller Titles which will be timed exclusive"

And yes that includes Halo/Gears/Forza but maybe in Halo's case they can finally split the damn Campaign from the Multiplayer, have the Campaign exclusive, have the Multiplayer multiplatform.

But if Starfield is no longer coming to PS then...You can't even say "all Zenimax titles timed exclusive" Lol.

Maybe Zenimax titles smaller ones only and sequels to previously multiplatform releases? Idk, Lol.

From all the bloated exaggeration we've seen on social media about the subject of exclusivity on Xbox platforms going away or being only timed,

I think if we're looking at the more long term consequences, is that them even entertaining the thoughts of doing case by case multiplat games in the future can really only slowly lead to the ultimate avenue that some have thought Xbox would be aiming all along as solely being a software and service provider.

I mean we're talking about a platform that was solely ingrained into the traditional console ecosystem a few years back, to one that changed it's revenue strategy by hoping on the service/subscription Netflix craze thinking they could achieve a similar success in a short matter of time. This has now devolved into the position of Gamepass being available on PC as well which partially lost interest to get into it's hardware ecosystem has a whole since PC's is a more agnostic platform.

Seeing as this change of strategy hasn't gathered the benefits and profits they hoped + in thought of the big buyout of ABK and industry rampant production costs, they're now pressured in some capacity to find ways to recoup these costs and generate more profits in response to that.

For now, it looks like one of those solutions might be the use of once "exclusive" console titles to become multiplats in the future in a case by case basis.
But I understand the sentiment some are going through when using the snowballing effect fallacy in which if Xbox is willing to depart with some of their exclusives strategically, what's there to guarantee that it will not evolve into outright the wild speculations they're having of Microsoft quitting the hardware buisness to concentrate itself on the software/service side uniquely ?

This is what Xbox PR will have to answer for in this business update event and their messaging better crystal clear cuz oooh boy, if it's not ... The internet will alight itself again like it's doing right now.

Personally, I think the steps they've gradually taken over the course of these last years is the results of them of them wanting to find their own gaming avenue, be different. Just like Nintendo has and Sony to an extent too.

It's a slow process and they prolly don't want people to act like they did today but I do think gradually and eventually, we'll reach the point of Xbox being a massive 3rd party publisher providing software to all platforms and it's own only digital platform too.

Of course, this isn't a matter that's gonna build itself in a single year. Would they release other hardware pieces. This strategy would only get clearer as time goes by.

What we betting that tomorrow XboxEra releases an update: "We're confident in our reporting of Starfield" Lmao.

Nate was one of the first to break this news though so eh, I trust him more.

A lot of this is insider culture honestly and how leaky of a ship Microsoft is.

At one point we had an article for practically every game, Microsoft is considering this, Microsoft is considering that, it's one thing to consider something, it's another for it to actually be done, businesses "consider" things all the time.

And then we have a lack of information, people freak out, even Jez freaked the F out and was losing his mind on Twitter, only to pull a complete 180 the next day cause he "heard" more things and then he's all like "I know something you don't know, people are overreacting"

I do appreciate Nate walking back on his leak publicly and admitting he was wrong but maybe people should just wait a little bit first, Lol.

The only one who remained consistent in their messaging was Tom Warren, he was always calm and always saying "considering is not doing"

Nate confirmed the other isn't a Bethesda title.

It's Pentiment 100%

Josh already said he wanted it on Switch/PS.

Also there's the wording in this Xbox Wire post.

Redfall: Console Exclusive
Starfield: Console Exclusive
Forza Motorsport: Console Exclusive
As Dusk Falls: Console Launch Exclusive
Pentiment: Console Launch Exclusive

Xbox Wire

They told us 2 years ago lads! It's right there and it was never fixed!

Plus As Dusk Falls came to PlayStation too!

So here's where we stand.

  • Hi-Fi Rush is practically confirmed.
  • Sea of Thieves seems very likely.
  • Pentiment seems likely.
  • Starfield NOT coming to PS according to Nate.
  • There's one more unknown.

Imo, the other unknown is Grounded.

So the trend so far is GAAS or Smaller Title/Niche Titles.

I think this could be made clear if it is just GAAS/Smaller Titles.

I'm just going to disregard AB, I don't really think anyone gives a shit if they're multiplatform or exclusive or think ABK has any reflection on exclusivity of other projects, ABK barely releases anything new as it is and what they do release are massive community focused titles (Diablo, COD, Overwatch) or not even on Consoles (Mobile/WOW).
