XD. These are some huge rumors, but I'm kind of hyped if true.

I think we need to take a back seat and enjoy whatever the future of Xbox holds for us.

I mean, I think people are just not realizing how much MS power move with ABK is about to turn the industry on its head and the rulesets of tomorrow are going to be completely different. It won't mean a thing for any shareholder to sell 100-150m of plastic boxes when whatever that brings you, you still need to look UP to MS for their revenue and ROI in the same industry.

IMO, and like I said in the past in other words, MS just identified and exposed the limit of the current console strategy and how it was holding the industry back, especially with the current AAA budget requirement.

People are too much holding onto the idea MS should make desperate power moves to win an already lost checker game while not realizing that the moves they make are done in a much more interesting and new game of chess where all other players are late.

Twitter feels like Journalists + Developers vs Gamers RN.

I can see why developers would be happy about it though and why gamers would be worried about the console.

The last take is dumb especially since we know that the majority of GamePass subs are from Console, If you reduce the value of the Console which this will do without a doubt then how does it help the platform? You get less subs and then what's the point of Gamepass when you start making less money from subs?

Also the whole leaving money on the Table argument applies to everyone and yet you will never see Sony and Nintendo putting their 1st party games on other console platforms.

Sony themselves said their pillars were outdated compared to Microsoft's and that they want to increase their profit margins.

Now Microsoft may not have Xbox hardware long enough for us to see it but I think a day comes where Sony is all in on PC day one releases as well, the console market has hit a ceiling, it has hit that ceiling for multiple generations now, meanwhile budgets are increasing more and more but the console market isn't growing. Something will have to give, expansion will have to be made.

I do think if Xbox stuck around long enough with a large enough audience, we could have even seen some select GAAS titles from Sony come over.

Crom's Game Pass point was "$0" Game Pass looks better than $80 releases. The only issue I have with that argument is the consoles cost hundreds of dollars too, Lol. It would only work if you don't own either console and see Xbox as better value (you'd have to not care about Sony exclusives as well) when picking from the two consoles.

Now cya whenever I feel like coming back

Love ya, I'm tired of these rumours though, I think they need to just rip the band-aid off and let people settle down and move on, it's happening, ain't changing that now, I'm going to play some games, watch some TV Shows, Twitter feels like it's about to get ugly, Lol. Xbox employees probs should mute their Twitter replies for a while, Lol.

Some of the meltdowns on Twitter are already 😬

Yeah, the takes of these developers and journalists and analysts are odd to me. Like everybody already knows why Microsoft wants to go multiplatform, they want more money, and we already know why the developers support it, they want the games they create to reach a wider playerbase (who would want the game they created to be played by less people?).

The issue is the Xbox fans, nobody seems to want to explain to them how this move will benefit them in any way, shape, or form. How do you explain to the loyal fans who spent alot of $ on an Xbox console to play Xbox exclusives, that those exclusives are no longer a thing, when many of those gamers now feel like they wasted $500 on Series X or $300 on a Series S now that those games are no longer exclusive? Money they now feel would have been better spent on PC or PS5. How do you justify a move which seems like it will actually hurt the chances of 3rd party developers porting to Xbox consoles in the future (no exclusives means less hardware sales, less hardware sales means smaller playerbase, smaller playerbase means higher difficulty of seeing a return on investment on your port to Xbox), when Xbox is already the platform most in need of ports? How do you soothe those who feel cheated and burned by Microsoft due to this move?

Is Xbox going to use the money from this multiplatform move to buy hardware success next gen, either through more acquisitions (perhaps) or hatting 3rd party exclusives (doubtful)? Will they use this multiplat money to pay 3rd party developers to port to Xbox consoles (doubtful)? Or are Microsoft and gamers on other platforms really the only ones who benefit from this move, while your own loyal fanbase gets the shaft?

What portion of Xbox fans would give up on Gamepass, their achievements, their digital libraries?

There are still reasons for a lot of people to stay in the ecosystem. Especially if MS takes a staggered approach.

330K GS+, 14 years on Xbox, moment they stop making hardware, I'm out. PC gaming is for the birds.

From now on I'm buying both versions of games to build up PS library and ease the transition for when it happens.

I won't be moving on from the Xbox ecosystem. Though I've pretty much made the switch from console gaming to PC gaming at this point. I play Xbox and PlayStation games on PC. Xbox games on PC Game Pass and PlayStation games on Steam. I do own a Switch to play some of the bigger Nintendo first-party games like Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart, Pokémon, etc.

I got into the ecosystem in 2022.

I'm staying. Especially now - no point in limiting myself to one platform or another.

b/c was a major reason why I got into Xbox and will be mainly the games I will be playing. I'll be playing first party games on my Series X before PC because I upgrade my PC every 5 years and not usually with the latest and greatest.

I dont use Gamepass and achievements are just secondary to me.

Personally, I am moving to PC very soon, already got the money out of savings and am just waiting and watching for good deals on each part so that I can maximize my specs within my budget. I will stick with the Xbox ecosystem somewhat, I will use my Microsoft rewards points on PC Gamepass instead of Gamepass Ultimate when my remaining Gamepass Ultimate time expires in December this year, and will play any games that are on PC Gamepass that interest me. I will likely keep my Series X instead of selling it, to keep access to my current Xbox library, current and past gen on back compat, but I probably won't be buying any more games for Xbox Series X when I can instead buy them on Steam and mod them and such.
