Forgot to add something else from the podcast, Nate was really positive about MS/Xbox and their future and he believes that Indiana Jones is a 2024 title, I'm not sure if that's based on stuff he has heard/insider sources though, or if it's just an educated guess but it feels like there's a little smoke around Indiana Jones maybe being a 2024 title.

It’s HFR for Switch 2.

I don't know, but I seem to have a double standard. HFR to Switch (2) feels fine to me. HFR to PS5 would irritate me..

It's all but confirmed it's HFR for Switch, although nobody has outright said that PlayStation isn't happening, but the insider has only confirmed it for Switch for now (also, Nate who the source originates from has more sources about Nintendo stuff than Xbox/PS). If Switch is their way to get a Japanese audience for a Japanese developer then they don't need PlayStation because Switch is dominating in Japan.

I think Xbox doesn't see Switch as a "direct" competitor to Xbox, there's enough of a power gulf between them wherein Xbox likely feels like Switch is more of a handheld to sit alongside a high-end device rather than a direct competitor (albeit still a competitor for time, money, shelf space, etc.) but it may be that like them supporting all those Windows handhelds and Steamdeck, they see Switch as another handheld okay to support.

I for example have an Xbox and Switch and it's a great combo for me, Nintendo's exclusives are amazing and I'd not be opposed to playing some smaller indies on Switch (although I care for my achievements, Lol) but I absolutely would not play AAA titles on Switch which I can get on Xbox, I think 98% of my Switch library is Nintendo IP, Lol.

Akame is fun, I can't wait to not see her ever again.

Meh Klobrille said it well

Phil Spencer, 2020: “I don't really love this idea that for every one of our games, there becomes this little rumor on it ‘is it going to end up on the Switch or not.’ I feel we should set a better expectation with our fans than that."

Fans will judge Xbox on words & actions.

Japan fans who said Xbox has no games will be proven right and meanwhile MS keeps playing the victim role 'maybe they hate us that's why it is not selling in the region while investing like 1% what the competitors do' .

Anyway Result: Japanese Gamers don't need an Xbox and Japanese devs got more proof that they don't need to bring their games to Xbox...and like I said xbox owners are lucky that deves still want to port games to Xbox ^^.

Klobrille seems to be less and less a fan of Spencer as time goes on, I have seen quite a few tweets from him calling out Spencer decisions in recent months, from the mixed messaging between Phil and the Tim Stuart CFO guy recently to this move of bring HiFi to a competitor platform.

I don't think he's less of a fan of Phil, it's more that he's not a fan of mixed messaging, Klobrille is a marketing guy.

If anyone thinks Phil is the issue in so far as, if Phil wasn't at the helm, his replacement would be mega console focused with the goal to destroy PlayStation and make everything exclusive to Xbox, they're delusional, Imho, Lol. The CEO himself has said he doesn't like exclusives and would love if everyone was multiplatform, the CFO of Xbox has implied the same thing.

Phil has tried to damage control those statements but their mixed messaging has sucked, Lol.

It just doesn't help their narrative as a console platform. Especially what Phil has said above. Why not put everything on Switch years later? Doesn't benefit Xbox fans at all. Can't wait for hi fi to get a physical on Switch and not xbox lmao. Can't even negotiate getting Bayonetta 2 and 3 either. Sure other studios at xbox aren't thinking why not put our games on switch as well? Least their audience supports their games blah blah blah.

Keep hearing about how it would mean extra revenue (I mean no shit could say that about everything being on multiple platforms). Not like Xbox is close to tencent in sales.

Can't blame other devs for skipping xbox when MS doesn't even prioritize Xbox.

Ori got a physical edition for Xbox the same time it got one for Switch didn't it?

Stands to reason that Hi-Fi Rush would be the same if it gets a physical edition for Switch.

Unless someone else is publishing it*

Conversations with third parties revealed how difficult it is to recover the current huge development costs with an install base of 100 million units, as even porting titles to Xbox consoles and PC doesn't help all that much.

Relevant, Lol, a console only focus is on its way out, Imho (further push into Mobile and PC) and this will sometimes extend to supporting other platforms not deemed direct competitors (I.E. Switch) for games which have underperformed (I.E. Hi-Fi Rush).
