The next entry in the Persona series will also be a multi-platform and have a worldwide simultaneous launch planned for Fall 2024

Hopefully that killed the narrative of P6 being PS exclusive.

Insomniac saying they need 5 years to create a AAA game (comes from the internal documents leaked) just goes to show how long AAA development is becoming, Insomniac is a big studio with over 500 employees and extremely efficient and need 5 years for AAA so another AAA studio not as efficient or smaller or working on their first AAA or simply working on a new IP would likely take at minimum 6 years.
It's becoming almost an entire generation to work on a single game...Coupled with rapidly increasing costs (in the hundreds of millions), the thousands of employees in total which work on AAA and the videogame industry just having one of the worst layoff years in history, it's hard not to be pessimistic about the future of AAA development, it's becoming ridiculous.
AAA in the current generation probably costs at least 3x more than it did in the 360/PS3 era but consoles aren't rapidly increasing in adoption (they have a limit of around 120m-130m and that's been true for a while now) so it's no surprise people are rushing into Mobile and PC cause these AAA investments are becoming insane.

I liked Starfield, but was extremely disappointed with the space travel aspect. I wanted to fly my ship into space, not do loading screens and I wanted to fly into planets and not do loading screens either. No Man's Sky spoiled me, I guess.
I've a feeling the horrid layoffs will continue into 2024.
Give us more mid-sized AAA experiences, stop chasing "the best looking game ever!" or shoving hundreds of hours of useless content into a game, I'd take mid-sized 20-30 hour RPGs happily or standalone but decent sized experiences like Miles Morales, speaking of which, Hivebusters should have been that instead of a DLC for Gears 5. One AAA failure could just wipe out an entire studio.
Xbox Series X re-review for 2024 and beyond.

Xbox is still the apex of Xbox, regardless of Microsoft's push into PC, cloud, and mobile: https://t.co/b4h6kBSjDI#XboxSeriesX #Xbox
"Also, the Xbox Game Pass tie-in delivers value no other platform really approaches, baking in hundreds of games and day-one Xbox exclusives for a $10-$15 monthly fee. Microsoft has a huge array of tricks up its sleeve for 2024 and beyond as well."
🤔🤔🤔
I wonder how much was delayed due to regulators and therefore going to be crammed into 2024, Lol.

It practically did for the Immortals of Aveum studio.
You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind
With reports Sony is closing a studio next year (I also expect more layoffs) I imagine Embracer will close a ton of studios too. Gonna be a bloodbath across the industry.
