The. Fucking. End.

That Tim Stuart dude of Xbox, needs to stfu. Sick of his mixed messaging. Either Xbox, put the games on PS and wrap it up on console, or stfu about it.

Yeah, Tim Stuart sucks at this. Klob nailed it in his analysis here:

Tim Stuart (Xbox chief financial officer) in an interview with TechRaptor. I do feel like the messaging here is just all over the place:

  • "Xbox's mission is to bring its first-party experiences and subscription services to every screen that can play a game, [...] including PlayStation and Nintendo"

Note: Microsoft wants to sell Xbox consoles but at the same time they somehow also want to be a third-party publisher. That's one way to give Xbox fans (no) confidence, I guess.

  • Explains that the move to Game Pass Core from Xbox Live Gold was motivated by the idea that paying for multiplayer feels antiquated.

Note: So, they got the right idea that paying for multiplayer feels antiquated, and as a result they created a new tier where you are paying for multiplayer. Alright.

  • "We need consumer brands at Microsoft that are meaningful."

Note: Xbox is that meaningful consumer brand at Microsoft. And Microsoft is actively lessening the impact the brand could have by being so defensive about your own content.

The Chief Financial Officer should probably go back to sticking to actual financing

And hire Klob as head of Xbox marketing lol

I think the thing that annoys me me most, possibly even more than the fact that they won't just decide to stick to Xbox exclusivity and keep saying they want PS and Nintendo money, is that line of BS he fed us about how they got rid of Gold because paying for multiplayer feels antiquated. So why the f are we still paying for multiplayer then? PC Gamepass is still getting it for free, so why do we Xbox fans have to pay $8 a month more than PC people for multiplayer. So many Xbox console owners are fed up with feeling like 2nd class citizens within the Xbox ecosystem. There was no need for Gamepass Core to exist, they could have simply added multiplayer to base Xbox console Gamepass. Then they could have added additional bonuses to Gamepass Ultimate so that it wouldn't feel like a ripoff at $7 a month more than base console Gamepass with multiplayer no longer an incentive.

Stuart may be good at making Xbox money, but he is bad for marketing, so why even put him in interviews where he can damage Xbox's marketing?

Geez, this is actually a ton of content! With Blizzard adding Hardcore servers to vanilla WoW, adding the old expansions like currently Wrath of the Lich King and next year, the Cataclysm expansion as a separate “Classic” experience, and now adding seasonal servers to vanilla WoW while still maintaining the traditional vanilla WoW experience ON TOP of working on the trilogy of recently announced expansions to the main game, WoW is probably the biggest game in Xbox's arsenal!

Yeah, seems like there is alot more positivity for WoW now than there was at the recent reveal event. The reveal trailer for the new expansion for main WoW got about 1 dislike for every 6 likes, while the reveal trailer for WoW Classic's Cataclysm expansion got about 1 dislike for every 4 likes. This new video for WoW Classic is sitting at 32 likes for every dislike, hugely more positive. Seems like people were largely worried that Cataclysm would be forced on them in WoW Classic, and since many old WoW fans felt like Cataclysm was the expansion that started WoW's decline, they were understandably worried that Cata would destroy WoW Classic just as it destroyed WoW. Now that we know vanilla WoW Classic will be maintained separately from Cata WoW Classic, I guess people are much less worried. Also helps that they are making some needed changes to Cata for Classic which will make it a better experience than it was originally in main WoW.

Xbox really needs to get WoW and WoW Classic onto Xbox somehow, would love to get back into it again after more than a decade, but my PC doesn't even meet the minimum requirement anymore.

Is just weird that Remnant 1 and 2 are on gamepass but people are so quiet about it....
