It was also nice to see Swery in an Xbox event again.
Yukio next? Lol.

Spade said: I give it a 6. Mid compared to last year. They needed more ports. Last year xbox got new franchises with Ni No Kuni, and Guilty Gear, Blaz blue finally coming back. Not going to deny the yakuza is a huge get for gamepass, and Swery's game is cool. Confirmation of DQ coming is great. Really wish FF made its way to xbox. Could have gotten Ys, Trails of as well... Shame those games are on stadia but not xbox. Very sad. Would have loved ports with Strikers, SMT as well. Not worth staying up, RIP. |
If you mean that DQ game releasing next week, it has been up on Xbox Store for weeks. Nothing to confirm here.
VersusEvil said: Glad to see that Xbox x Sega relationship still being strong. Don’t know why people want anything from that Sony boot licker of a company SE after they’ve shown nothing but distain for the Xbox brand. Let them cry over a fan base they haven’t made the slightest bit of effort to build not buying their games. |
Because Square Enix not liking certain plastic box maker’s company doesn’t make their games any worse or any better?
Ryuu96 said: I can only imagine Atlus hasn't ported SMT over to Xbox yet because they're so busy with Persona titles, Lol. |
No, it’s because Team Xbox don’t know what SMT is.
No huge announcements, but Octopath Traveler 2 and more Yakuza on Game Pass is enough to keep satisfied.
Ryuu96 said: I wonder if Xbox couldn't have saved the FF14 announcement for this TGS or Square wanted to announce it at their event. |
Get off that trash ESO game, and you'd be caught up.
You only got 6 --> Like a Dragon --> Gaiden
Although you said you not interested in Like a Dragon or Ichiban, so, only two games.

Nah I said I'm not a big fan of turn based but I may try it still for the story, Lol.
It's unfortunate MS or some other company didn't acquire Crystal Dynamics and Edios instead if Embracer. It's only a matter of time until Embracer closes or sells them off. Hopefully the later.

"There is a strong vibrant market with many, many active players--both financial sponsors and big industry players--but it’s easier to run proper processes for, I would say, more high-value assets than smaller assets"
Here comes the closures and sell offs.

They promoted it more but there's a difference between promoting and hyping, promoting is what they should be doing for every show. We had a countdown from Xbox Japan Twitter, and Xbox SEA but as always, regional Twitter accounts are to be taken with a grain of salt, I don't believe the main Xbox Twitter account ever tweeted the countdown. Phil didn't even mention TGS in the company email about things to look forward to, Lol. Still it was a mid show and worse than last years but Yakuza was an awesome (and big) announcement. Square Enix continues to show signs of light in terms of supporting Xbox and have pledged twice now further support so it's just a matter of (sadly) waiting a little longer there and Square Enix is the main dude doing the big JRPGs nowadays so their absence hurts that area more. I don't expect much from TGS anyway so I guess I'm not as bothered, its significance has rapidly diminished across the years and now Xbox is the only major platform holder doing a showcase, Lol. Least Phil and Sarah are there in person to talk to developers (the situation is still improving, doubled the amount of Japanese titles on their platform). There are still gaps but I think if Square showed up like "here's FF7!" then that alone would have bumped it up a whole point, it didn't happen this showcase, but I do believe we will see Final Fantasy return to Xbox eventually as the relationship has been fixed and Square is slowly but surely supporting Xbox more again. Perhaps they're waiting for a bigger showcase, perhaps the contracts are still in place, or perhaps the porting isn't ready. We had a few smaller titles like Suda/Swery's title which looks cool, Ace Attorney, but there was nothing like "WOW" for a big title, aside from Yakuza for Game Pass but that is already coming to Xbox, it needed a big surprise port like FF7 or something else, compared to last year we had a few big franchises returning to Xbox or releasing on Xbox for the first time, the pacing sucked too, Lol. If Square was ready, it could have took this show to a 6-7. |
I felt like it was overhyped. Last year they barely promoted it to their pages outside of Xbox Japan but this year it was all over their Xbox social pages promoting this and we even had that video from Phil a few days ago telling us to tune in. Even though it’s 5am for me at one point yesterday I considered getting up early for the show based on how much promo they were doing because I expected big announcements. Glad I slept in instead.
