Any truth to this? They can't do an extension without acti board approval, the deadline is firm not conditional.

I think (but I could be wrong), that the date is not a termination date on the contract but a date after which ABK or MS can terminate the deal for any reasons they see fit.

I really wish this would have been settled today, now what we wait until Thursday?

I am really annoyed that prey mooncrash sounds like something I love but ends up being so annoying...

The simulation gets harder but also way more annoying ugh and I really wanted to like it...

Is that the roguelike mode? I was meh about trying it.

Yes and I know some will love it but it has elements I hate, A time limit, basically every 10*15 minutes you go up a danger level making the enemies harder, hazards will be more common, sometimes their is a fire, a ton of radiation on your way, electricity is out or it is flooded with enemies. It goes from fun and challenging to frustratiting while it is technically a short dlc you can easily spend 30+ hours on it

It's not, it's essentially a date wherein after that date, Activision can walk away for whatever reason they want to and still pocket $3bn but it's not a date where the deal simply drops dead so you're correct. I don't believe they need shareholder approval to temporarily ignore it but I'm not sure about board, I doubt they'll say no either way.

Thursday is where CMA will present to the CAT judge, evidence which shows why the delay to the CAT trial should stand.

Meanwhile, the CMA and Microsoft are in talks about whatever this Cloud divestment is, Microsoft has yet to send their final proposal to CMA and then CMA will need to do some market tests and whatnot, write up their final report and then approve it.

Should probably just assume it ain't closing until August but at this point, it is closing.

WASHINGTON, July 17 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is considering its options after stinging losses last week in its bid to stop Microsoft's $69 billion deal to buy Activision, a source told Reuters on Monday amid expectations the agency's fight is nearing the end.

After a big loss last week in district court, the agency's remaining options are: pursue its fight in the internal FTC court; pursue its parallel case before the appeals court; pursue both; or settle with Microsoft or drop the matter entirely.

It can theoretically close tomorrow but the path is very narrow and very unlikely. The CAT Thursday date to receive evidence is not relevant, that's only to prevent the CAT appeal to proceed as previously planned.

The next thing to wait for is the CMA dropping their interim order. If that happens tomorrow (again very unlikely but still in the realm of possibility) then MS could close (with the explicit consent of the CMA (consent is not required normally by the CMA but the ABK deal limit itself to not close over the CMA)) and have the CMA produce an initial enforcement order (IEO) to hold separate the businesses.

It's a lot for 1 business day so it might even be impossible even if all the party set their mind to it.
