Thank God someone else finally posted.

Just too intimidated to interrupt you in how absorbed you are in this case lol.

I think Sony and Take Two are the only ones who have talked against it.

Although, I wonder if there might be some nuance.

Even if a company is on a service, that doesn't necessarily mean that they love the idea of it. They might feel compelled to be part of it, because not being on it might be more damaging, whereas the best case scenario for them is not having it exist at all.  (GamePass Not Existing > Gamepass existing but on it > Gamepass existing but not on it.)

I don't think that kind of position is contradictive.

I think it's pretty clear that EA doesn't care, EA Play existed before Gamepass (although maybe Gamepass forced them to be more aggressive in some way or another).

I don't know anything, just throwing out some potential nuance for how both things could be true somehow.

Activision as well, LOL.

Activision have specifically said they don't believe in the day one release model of Game Pass, as have Take-Two but it's more about AAAs I believe, either way, Activision and Take-Two don't believe in subscription services in general, I especially get that vibe from Take-Two's CEO who seems a bit of a traditionalist but Bobby's is probably more from a perspective of "nobody could afford me"

EA believes in the sub model (obv) as does Ubisoft (obv) cause they both have their own services, EA Play is kind of being propped up by Game Pass on Xbox so I'm sure they like that otherwise I doubt it would have continued for as long as it has, I think both of these companies can be listed as being supporters of the sub model and thus they would have no reason to dislike Game Pass aside from competition (Lol).

Paradox is a strong supporter of Game Pass and has done quite a lot of day one launches into Game Pass so I think we can say they're a fan, Sega is definitely a fan as they've done a bunch of day one launches, expressively praised Game Pass multiple times both publicly and to investors and even had a dang FAQ for Game Pass on their website, Lol.

Think Capcom is being a bit of a fan too considering they're doing more day one releases there, and I mean, any Japanese developer which does Game Pass day one releases doesn't need to do it because to be brutally honest, most Japanese developers wouldn't even have to touch Xbox to be a success, they only need PlayStation or Switch but Game Pass gives them more incentive.

Honestly the only publishers I can think of who have publicly came out or privately commented on disliking Game Pass/Subscription Models are Activision and Take-Two. Even then it's less "dislike" and more a difference of business opinion as to what they think is more viable. T2/ABK simply don't believe the market is viable.

Got my first appearance of the Butcher today in launch Diablo 4. Solo killed him on world tier 2 at level 49. Feels good to be able to solo kill him after he wiped the floor with me so many times during the 3 beta weekends.

@trunkswd do you think any of the data that came out over the last several days of this trial provided enough substantial info to make any adjustments to the sales figures for any of the 3 console manufacturers, or was it largely stuff we already knew?

Parris on XB2+1 Podcast with Jez and Rand.

"And Aaron Greenberg told me this specifically that, like, before the showcase, he goes "yeah, everything that we're showing we're targeting in within the next 18 months""

Take that with a huge grain of salt considering it's Aaron Greenberg and he said it in a casual conversation with Parris

I could see South of Midnight targeting 18 months but definitely not Fable or Clockwork Legacy.
