Even though this is a great place to keep up with what's going on, it's now becoming too depressing for me to check. All the excitement I have following labour's massive win is not deflated just going through a few posts here, who am I fooling, there is no saving us if this continues to be the reaction to every Russian's offensive. Thoughts and prayers to those dying in our behalf.

Hopefully Ukraine will be able to protect those incoming F-16s.............. they'll be a game changer eventually if they have a good plan in place to keep the planes secure.

They're going to have to be on the move non-stop and will need a ton of AD covering them which means less for civilians, plus Ukraine doesn't have many runways suitable for them, if NATO grew some balls and put troops into Western Ukraine then they could protect them or let them take-off from NATO countries the same way Russia used Belarus as a staging post because they knew Ukraine wouldn't attack them.

Hey, you've got the avatar of the original hawk tua girl!

Hell...There are multiple airfields in Ukraine within range of Patriots in Poland/Romania which could be aided in defence without even leaving the respective country and who knows what other air-defence these countries have which could reach these airfields, if we could make an agreement with Moldova it would put even more airfields within range.

Instead we'll leave Ukraine to defend them by themselves and force them to make the choice of defending their civilians or defending aircraft.

It looks like we both had some afterthoughts on protecting those F16s and I was coming here to post this. Ukraine wants Poland to protect the space near its border, presumably with air defense batteries of some kind.  It might work on Poland, they seem to be really concerned about this conflict and strongly support Ukraine. Here's a quick link to what I was going to post:

There is a good chance that Trump wins the election and Biden doesn't seem to give a shit about giving Ukraine a head-start in case that happens, Ukraine has 6 months to do as much damage as possible in the event of a Trump win, instead we're going to keep their arms tied and Ukraine is going to be a good little boy following all our rules, only for America to fucking backstab them because some people are goddamn cowards.

Ukraine without America pretty much kills any hope of them retaking their land unless something drastic happens to benefit them.

I hope to see UK step up to the plate and taking a leadership position if America abandons Ukraine and doesn't just follow America like a little dog, I hope UK forms closer bonds with the Baltics/Nordics/Central Europe because it has to be either us or France as the only two nuclear holding countries in Europe, we need to step up, especially if America backstabs us.

I have my doubts of a Ukraine victory if America abandons us, especially if they keep these stupid rules on Ukraine up until the point of them abandoning us, but I hope I can at least be proud of the fact that UK won't abandon its allies and will stick by their side to the very end and stay with Ukraine as long as they still have the courage to fight on all our behalf.

Yeah, apparently they've agreed in principle on some sort of method to defend Ukraine's territory wherein Poland would shoot down drones and missiles which are "heading towards Poland" which is hard to say what that means exactly, do they have to literally be heading towards Poland or just within a certain range of Poland?

It might work on Poland because Poland fucking despises Russia but we'll see.

Yeah, I just never understand why everybody acts like we have all the time in the world to deal with this particular problem when we really really don't. Everybody keeps saying oh this is an inflection point, but I don't ever see the appropriate response.

Sir Keir Starmer must accept that the war in Ukraine is a European problem, a senior Trump ally has said, as he warned against “haranguing” Washington for help.

Elbridge Colby told The Telegraph that the UK should not expect significant support from the US on Ukraine under a second Trump administration, and called for Europe to take “primary responsibility” for the war.

But Mr Colby said that Americans were tired of hearing demands from British politicians on Ukraine, including over the latest funding bill, which is known as a “supplemental”.

He said: “I would much rather have the United States dealing with a practical, hard-headed, realistic, serious, Europe-focused UK from a defence point of view, than one that is intervening in the supplemental debate, pushing us to give Storm Shadow [missiles], and then only giving £3 billion a year.

“It is basically writing cheques that the American people are supposed to cash.”

Ukraine War is Europe's Problem, Trump Ally Tells Labour

United Kingdom

Total allocations

  • 0.432% of GDP (Rank: 12)

United States

Total allocations

  • 73.962bn € (Rank: 1)
  • 0.340% of GDP (Rank: 16)

Mate...Shut the fuck up...We're giving more than you in terms of GDP...Once again the American not understanding that a $28 trillion GDP country can provide more in hard numbers than a $3.5 trillion GDP country. "Pushing us to give Storm Shadow" The fuck are you talking about? You mean ATACMS? Storm Shadow is UK's missile you fucking idiot.

Lets not mention all the migrants we take in from war-torn countries while America barely takes any.

Need reminding that it was the UK who first sent ATGMs? It was UK who first sent MBTs? It was UK who first sent Long-Range Missiles? Need reminding that it took months after UK and France's decision to send long-range missiles for America to follow? We been leading already, we been focused on Europe already.

If this is how you want to be then you're on your own with China, you're on your own with Iran/Israel, you're on your own the next time some terrorists attack your country, every single goddamn American-led war, the UK has followed them into like a loyal little dog and these MAGA twats have the nerve to bitch about us?

Hope Keir doesn't turn into a bitch if Trump wins and stands up for Europe. Fine we'll lead, without America and America can go do whatever it wants, without us. Last time America tried to be isolated it worked out brilliantly for them /s.

I do agree though, Europe needs to be independent from America, they're dumb as fuck though and won't like the results of that, Europe is so dependent on America partly because America wanted us to be because it was smart from a political standpoint. What the American foreign policy is tends to be what Europe's foreign policy is as well, it gives America a lot of influence over Europe and it's because we rely so heavily on America (militarily).

The results of a more independent Europe will be a Europe way less inclined to follow America when it comes to foreign policy, a more isolated America who now has less strength to project their force and influence across the world, a Europe which doesn't give a shit about what America says, wants or does anymore, Republicans severely underestimate the influence they have by being Europe's "protector"

Not only will it hurt America politically, it will hurt them economically, that massive MIC going to have far less people to sell to when you force Europe to massively invest in their own defence industries and are no longer spending billions buying American equipment and instead building more locally and sharing more between each other.

I'm not against all this, sounds like a good thing for Europe but it's a bad thing for America which MAGA doesn't realise.
