It looks like we both had some afterthoughts on protecting those F16s and I was coming here to post this. Ukraine wants Poland to protect the space near its border, presumably with air defense batteries of some kind.  It might work on Poland, they seem to be really concerned about this conflict and strongly support Ukraine. Yeah, apparently they've agreed in principle on some sort of method to defend Ukraine's territory wherein Poland would shoot down drones and missiles which are "heading towards Poland" which is hard to say what that means exactly, do they have to literally be heading towards Poland or just within a certain range of Poland?

It might work on Poland because Poland fucking despises Russia but we'll see.
