Rough couple weeks for Putin. Erdogan shows once again, how much of a snake he is and he doesn't seem to be afraid of any payback Russia could issue via Syria anymore. Russia continues to diminish on the world stage.

Has nothing to do with Ukraine but he also recently raised the VAT from 18% to 20% and some other taxes as well.

Kremlin criticises French offer of longer-range missiles to Kyiv. Peskov said it was a mistake by France, and Ukraine will face consequences as Russia will take countermeasures.

We value our allies. We value our shared security. And we always appreciate an open conversation.
Ukraine will be represented at the NATO summit in Vilnius. Because it is about respect.

But Ukraine also deserves respect. Now, on the way to Vilnius, we received signals that certain wording is being discussed without Ukraine.

And I would like to emphasize that this wording is about the invitation to become NATO member, not about Ukraine's membership.

It's unprecedented and absurd when time frame is not set neither for the invitation nor for Ukraine's membership. While at the same time vague wording about "conditions" is added even for inviting Ukraine.

It seems there is no readiness neither to invite Ukraine to NATO nor to make it a member of the Alliance.

This means that a window of opportunity is being left to bargain Ukraine's membership in NATO in negotiations with Russia. And for Russia, this means motivation to continue its terror.

Uncertainty is weakness. And I will openly discuss this at the summit.

A French diplomatic source said they were talking about 50 SCALP missiles produced by European manufacturer MBDA.

The missiles were being integrated into Ukrainian Russian-made warplanes, the French military source said.

"There are guarantees for (restricting) the use of these missiles to internationally-recognised borders of Ukraine," the military source said.

I wouldn't be surprised if Russia said the same thing about Ukraine, if Ukraine joins NATO eventually. Sure, they waged a war against this country, but you have to remember that the goal of the special operation was to demilitarize Ukraine from old Soviet weapons which is something that Russia will have succeeded at.
