Kazakhstan says it won't recognise referendums in eastern Ukraine

ALMATY (Reuters) - Kazakhstan, one of Russia’s close ex-Soviet partners, will not recognise the possible annexation of Ukraine’s eastern regions by Russia through referendums held there, the Central Asian nation’s foreign ministry said on Monday.

Seems like another large chunk of occupied land is about to fall rapidly, maybe even on both fronts. Russia internally is now a giant mess, you'd think there will be a point when the people there have had enough.

No an original quote but it immediately reminded me of that Zap Brannigan line about Kill-Bots and sending wave after wave of his own men to be slaughtered.

I though so to and I think this is not the first time this particular Zap Brannigan quote have been posted in this thread (that speak tons on Russia leadership -_-).

But worst then this is, if you think about it a little, Zap Brannigan had a strategy which would give him the certainty of victory (ok it was literally the worst strategy ever but still victory was assured). For Putin though, I don't know if he have realized already but Ukrainian doesn't have kill limits.

If Lyman falls, they'll likely be another Kharkiv style collapse but reportedly Putin is throwing a lot into Lyman to hold it.

Seems like it, but it'll be surrounded soon enough.

I'd wondered about that given the number supposedly crossing the border. Reminds me of reddit post I'd seen where some very sheltered Americans go to Europe and demand they speak English and complain they can't use dollars.

Kinda worse from the Russian aspect though due to the perception of a colonial relationship and that given the Ukraine war Russia could end up using it as an excuse to attack to 'protect Russian speakers'.

Absolutely believable that people from regions who lost family members, good friends and neighbors from Russia's attacks, those who got their homes and cars destroyed and those who now have to fear to get drafted or to have a father/son/husband to be drafted to Russia's military would vote to 98% pro Russia.

Why do they even try and don't just say that they want to steal land? They know it, we know it and they know that we know it so just say it you idiots.
