Well now that I have slept in it.
It would be such a mental gut wrenching feeling knowing your army would be killing untrained men that were forced to go to war that want no part of it.
I think Ukraine should try to capture these mobilised soldiers if possible through negotiations and not kill them. Then when time is right, ship them back home east, whilst telling them they should hold a referendum to leave Russia haha. How funny would that be if they form their own country.
Hmm could they have a remote referendum in Ukraine as most of their population would be there ...
Russian forces pictured "repairing" the bridge at the Nova Kakhovka dam, Kherson Oblast, by dumping truck loads of gravel into the water... pic.twitter.com/xk3aRLxfaL

Well that's a bummer...
If Russia mixes concrete into that pile of dirt the HIMARS rockets will mostly evaporate into nothingness. Ukraine also can't destroy the sluice gates to sabotage the "construction" of that heap or they would flood the Kherson region and it would possibly negatively affect water supply for agriculture in the following years.
And even if they would be given the big firecrackers the Russians could simply pour more cheap dirt into the pit.
The last hope is that Russia can't find a solution for that small piece of bridge right next to the dam. Ukraine could also constantly attack the rails but Russia can fix them rather quickly. One rocket a day would probably be more expensive than the repairs.
Just tagging this great thread again. Thanks a bunch for your effort, Ryuu96.

Putin's #mobilization self-own: Employees at the Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center in #Moscow (you know - rockets, missiles, ICBMs) are getting conscripted. The staff of this strategic plant is freaking out. pic.twitter.com/PQ4QEwV1XD

In Buryatia, college students literally taken away from their classes to be conscripted and sent to war. Insane. https://t.co/7GQbHmI4g7

If that is going to happen, you'd think it happens pretty much now as citizens are rounded up for military service. Otherwise, who exactly is going to fight the war?

What I wonder is the unintended consequence. If these ethnic republics round up men of fighting age an equip them for war, these men could theoretically choose to mutiny whilst in their home republics against Russia and try to separate from Russia. A lot of these republics are headed by Russian loyalist but usually ones from the local republic (like Chechnya) so its not unthinkable (even if the Chechnya example is unlikely). |
No way they will get a gun lol.
They will use the old WW2 tactic, queue front man has the gone, once he dies man behind him picks up and shoots at the enemy.

That's a WW1 tactic.

No, this is how the South fought in the Civil War from roughly half-time. Less than half the Southern militia had any guns (or shoes, or appropriate clothing). Watch Ken Burns and learn...
