Crimea is protected by S-400 surface-to-air missile systems and this happens lol it's pretty unbelieveable how their systems are turning out to be trash.

Idk why it's surprising tho. There's an old joke in Finland which translates into something like "What doesn't rattle or fit in any ass?"

A Russian ass-rattler of course.

The Russian Federation Explained The Explosions At The Airfield In Crimea As A ''Fire Safety Violation'' | Ukrainska Pravda

Guess they went with the old "We're incompetent fucks!"

Guys! Guys! It wasn't Ukraine that blew our airfield up, we accidentally blew our own airfield up!

I mean, the best lies are the ones with an element of truth to them.

Fire and explosions at Chonhar  where there's only one of a few crossings between Crimea and the rest of Ukraine.

The lady in the 100km traffic jam is laughable.

Crying cause she has to leave. Well it ain't your home you been squatting for 8 years.

Could also be that the war is unpopular thus some Russian troops will not always put their best foot forward. Salute to Russian troops who resist orders in whatever way they can.

That guy is a complete clown at this point. I don't think a single thing he's been widely reported to have said is anything I can take seriously, let alone be threatened by it. This must be for domestic politics, because that can't be having much effect outside Russia.

I think it's fantastic that the British/Canadians are training Ukraine soldiers, they are highly regarded and professional forces.

But for the long term... I think the better goal would be to train some Trainer/Presenter/Assessors to make the Ukraine Army more self sufficient, that way they can take on some learned lessons that are more specific to their region, geography and equipment to make them more effective.
It's the longer term stuff that needs to start going into focus.

Agree the long term strategy will be the key for this conflict as well as future invasions / wars. They will also need to be able to stand on their own two feet, so hopefully when this current conflict ends, the US and others will not want their equipment back.

Look at Afghanistan, you got to wonder did the US train the Afghan army well? or did they just bend over to the Taliban? or in principle they agreed with the Taliban ideologies and were happy when the US left and things went back to how they were.

It is simply a different country, different people, different culture and a different war.

For Afghani's, the training culture might not have fit them at all. Meanwhile we hear about the Ukrainians as being extremely motivated and learning things faster than a normal soldier would.
