Congressman Don Bacon:

„It is a time for honesty. Peace talks are having zero effect on Putin. His goal is to dominate Ukraine & he won’t stop until he realizes he cannot win. US & Allies must arm Ukraine to the teeth, sanction Russia to the max, & confiscate the $300B in overseas Russian assets.“

Blah blah blah blah, another Republican talking big and doing nothing. Lindsey Graham said he had the votes, he said he has more than enough votes, still ain't doing shit to avoid upsetting emperor Trump. You're goddamn Senators, put forth legislation and put Trump on the spot or shut the fuck up, absolutely useless idiots acting like they have zero power when in actual fact they're just terrified of upsetting their king who is friends with Putin.

  • Republicans: We need to start being tough on Russia! We need more sanctions! More support for Ukraine!
  • Trump: No.
  • Republicans: We need to start being tough on Russia! We need more sanctions! More support for Ukraine!

And they will never acknowledge who is responsible for why we don't have tougher sanctions and more support for Ukraine because they're terrified of calling Trump out like some North Korean dictatorship, these Republicans are spineless cretins, they'll just keep saying we need to be tougher on Russia, while their leader completely refuses because he's a coward or Putin's puppet.

They're terrified of creating a moment where Republicans introduce legislation and Trump refuses to enforce it, ultimately they all know Trump is a cuck to Putin but none would publicly acknowledge it. They don't want to create a Republican Senate vs Trump situation because they too are cowards. It's all tough talk with absolutely nothing to back it up. The way they're dancing around this issue is absolutely pathetic, it's like they're trying to treat Trump as some feeble poor old man who they need to protect and it's not Trump's fault somehow.

US military shifts messaging in Africa, telling allies to prepare to stand on own - ABC News

Well, the USA is a shit ally, but then this basically cedes influence on the entire region to China/Russia so well done, Lol.

  • Europe = Surrendered to Russia
  • Africa = Surrendered to Russia/China

And some still think Trump is going to defend Asian allies, LOL. There's talks of US reducing troop numbers in South Korea and they've already essentially told Taiwan they won't defend them unless they pay America big bucks. This whole Trump admin is going to do so much damage to America long-term in terms of foreign policy and allies.

Everyone loves the evil charismatic guy, until they have to be around them or work with these kinds of people. But we voted him in so it rightly should hurt a bit so that America will remember this and consider the vote more wisely in the future.

I've been watching Ransom lately (old series) and came upon an episode about Ukraine (S2 Ep5)

Ukrainian terrorists (from annexed Crimea) wanting revenge on Russia. The show made it kinda clear Russia were the good guys or rather don't attack Russia...

Pro Russian propaganda in 2018?

When did American TV switch from Russian bad to Russian good. (Arabs have become the default bad guys since 2001)

Games and Hollywood propaganda do a lot to shape public opinion :/

The U.S. bent over backwards to make Russia good guys after the USSR collapsed. That didn't change when Yeltsin was replaced by Putin.

And Trump seems to be buddy-buddy with rich Arabs. Saudi Arabia was never on Trump's list of banned countries despite the fact that 9/11 was perpetrated by Saudis and Emiratis, and Trump also didn't seem to care when a Saudi Air Force officer murdered a bunch of Americans in Pensacola. He did assure the American people that the King was "very sorry." It's the Iranians (who are not Arabs) that the U.S. has a big beef with, although most Americans can't tell Arabs, Iranians, Kurds, and Sikhs apart from one another despite those all being very different peoples.

When is the South going to learn its lesson? Trump is basically George Wallace, except he's from Queens. He's everything they wanted in 1968.

uh, trump is an all-american hero kind of guy.  GW made his platform central to a value that is hated, i really don't see a whole lot in common with them except for perhaps the political party and deranged followers.

Wallace was actually a Southern Democrat (except that he actually ran as an independent in 1968 because there was no way in hell the Democratic Party outside of the South was going to nominate him for anything), but Trump's first 100 days have been a Dixiecrat's wet-dream. He may be flailing on the international stage, but he's done a marvelous job of dismantling a half-century of civil rights reforms.

When will he stop this delusional self-obsession and start showing real leadership—peace through strength, not ego through repetition?

Trump appears to be referring to Zelensky's remarks yesterday about Trump's "silence" and lack of decisive action as Russia continued bombing civilians across Ukraine. The line was: "Silence of America, silence of others around the world only encourage Putin."

It took Trump 24 hours after the biggest Russian air attack on Ukraine ever began to release a statement. When he did, he still managed to criticize the president of the country being bombarded.

“I don't know what the hell happened to Putin,” Trump says.

Putin hasn’t changed. He has been attacking Ukraine and killing people here since 2014, he is still attacking and killing Ukrainians this morning, and he will continue to attack and kill them until he is made to stop.

Trump has leveled empty threats but so far failed to deliver on them. He's again threatened sanctions, but he has done so before and explicitly told Zelensky and European leaders on a phone call a week ago that he would not impose further sanctions on Russia.

— Christopher Miller (@christopherjm.ft.com) 26 May 2025 at 06:30

Trump's offer of economic incentives hasn't changed the Russian leader's calculus. Nor has a Truth Social post demanding, "Vladimir, STOP!"

So the question Ukrainians are asking as their neighbors cower in bomb shelters this morning amid another Russian air attack is...

— Christopher Miller (@christopherjm.ft.com) 26 May 2025 at 06:30

...When will Trump prove he's willing to go down the path of "peace through strength" he boats of walking, by taking action against Russia to get it to end its 11-year war and, as Trump himself says, "stop killing people?"
