🇺🇦 Zelensky: "I didn’t allow ministers to sign the mineral resources deal because it's not ready and doesn’t protect our interests. As president, I have influence over its quality, and in my view, it still needs work to ensure Ukraine’s interests are safeguarded.

🇺🇦🇸🇪 "Sweden has made supporting Ukraine its top foreign policy priority. Grateful to PM Ulf Kristersson for this and for coordinating with allies on peace through strength. A strong Europe is key—Putin will only lose to strength," Zelensky said after meeting with Kristersson.

Peace talks on Ukraine will begin in the coming days, per Politico. Trump’s team is heading to Saudi Arabia for negotiations with Russian & Ukrainian delegations—without EU representatives.

This is so Russia can say their demands, Trump can repeat Russia's demands and try to pressure Zelenskyy, it's so fucking obvious they're trying to isolate Zelenskyy to apply pressure to him, Zelenskyy is a tough guy and I doubt he lets them pressure him but we should be there to support him either way. It's so fucking obvious the tactics of a bully, isolate someone. All Trump is going to do is agree with Putin and gaslight Zelenskyy.

UPDATED, NEW DETAILS: US deal was given to Zelensky only just before he met Treasury Sec Bessent in Kyiv. It was dated Feb. 7, 2025, and only referenced US getting Ukrainian resources in exchange for past military aid, and did not contain proposals for similar future assistance.

Disgusting Fucking Thieves.

Europe urgently needs its own plan of action concerning Ukraine and our security, or else other global players will decide about our future. Not necessarily in line with our own interest. This plan must be prepared now. There’s no time to lose.

Unless there's something I'm missing, it certainly sounds like the US tried to either straigth up trick or at least pressure Zelenskyy into signing the agreement, which doesn't sound like it would have had any real benefits for Ukraine. Of course Ukraine would also benefit from the US just stealing the resources, because some of the money involved will reach Ukraine, but I still have a hard time seeing how it could be a sensible agreement at all. I guess it's nice the US revealed it's dishonesty so soon?

1 day becomes 3 months becomes 180 days.

Ceasefire benefits Russia more.

You have to be some crazy bastard to tell Europe  which got attacked by Russia, which as a whole did more for Ukraine as USA and which took care of like 5m refugees that Europe won't be part of talkings with Russia to decide Ukraine's and with that also Europe's future.

And America wonders why so many on this planet hate them and tells everyone who hates USA that they are just jealous

The US is becoming increasingly out of touch with reality. It's because there is a sickness in the country. The democracy has failed.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Like I said, it's a bully tactic, they're trying to isolate Zelenskyy, America is going to pretend to be impartial but in reality co-op whatever Russia demands, in the room it will be America and Russia vs Ukraine. We should be there not only for all the reasons you said but also to support Ukraine, it's not that I think Ukraine needs the support but it's the principle, it's only right that Ukraine has someone to support it.

Ukraine was neither invited nor informed about U.S.-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia, per Fox News.

Presidential Office head Yermak said Ukraine won’t send negotiators: "There’s nothing on the table to discuss. We won't negotatiate on Russia's terms."

Exactly the same playbook as Trump backstabbing the Afghan government.
