I hope everything is ok with ROL and that he is so sure that NS will complete the road, so he is lurking to come back officially then!

I wouldn't be so sure about Rol coming back.

I don't know hardly anything about the details, but from what I could gather and unless I'm mistaken, he and some of the mods had a falling out of sorts, and he's taking an... indefinite hiatus, for lack of a better term.

Again, take that with a grain of salt, I know next to nothing about the details.

Imagine if tomorrow at the Pokomon Direct they announce 2 versions of the Switch Lite.

1. FireRed and LeafGrean editions
2. Both come with an exclusive pack of Pokomon cards.......only with these Switch Lite editions.

160m Switch? Easy.

Ehhh, I don't know about that. I think the Pokemon well has dried up for Switch 1.

With an exclusive set of physical Pokémon cards, you don't get anywhere else?

I don't think Nintendo is focused on SW1 anymore. SW2 is a few months away from it's 1 year anniversary. They care more about profit than getting some record only fanboys care about.

Never stopped Nintendo in the past.

NES (3 years later). SNES (1 year +) , Wii (1 month +), GBA (10+ months later) and 3DS (4 months) all had revision models launch after their successors launched

Considering the current economic outlook (tariffs, uncertainty, and RAM shortages), I think Nintendo is looking at every option available. They don't want to lose momentum on SW2 and don't care about SW1 sales numbers, but if they have to raise prices and lose sales on their newest console, a revised SW1 model with some extra software to smooth the price could be an option.

Is it safe to say this isn't happening now? I think most have come to terms this is wishful thinking. Nintendo is all in with the Switch 2. I expect the shelf space for SW1 to greatly dimenish this year...

It can still happen. We have to wait for next quarter numbers and the year forecast, then we will have a better idea of a Nintendo is doing.

It appears to have dropped drastically in America and Europe, but for some reason is still holding very well in Japan.
I could see a scenario where they still sell and produce it for another 4 years at around ~1 million units each, carried largely by Japan, just because there is still just enough demand there where most of the Japanese sales are exports to smaller countries across southeast Asia, or even India - Nintendo has been trying to enter India for quite some time with little to no success. Maybe a lower priced Switch 1 with the library it has massed could be how they finally get their foot in the door. And in a country filled with nearly 1.5 billion people and still rapidly growing, there's gotta be a couple million people who are looking to purchase a Switch 1
