Didn't the Switch sell under 10k last week in Japan?

Sold just a hair under 9k last week.  Around 10k the week before.  The Switch, unless I am missing something, isn't remotely near 27k a week in Japan.  The Switch has cooled off fast and hard, hitting 160 million is going to take a miracle.

It sold 26,481 for the week ending Feb 15, so at least for one week sales have picked back up.

I am confused.

Where is the 26k coming from?

That is for the previous week. The week ending February 8.

Gotcha, I hadn't seen the new data.  It will be curious if the 26k holds, I doubt it.

26k is holiday level of sold units. Impressive! I hope the Switch managet to hold on to this level of number for a while

Supposedly the Switch Oled was supply constrained for the previous 2 weeks which seems crazy to me considering it's age. It'll be very interesting to see where the Switch settles this year in Japan.

The supply constraint was likely a consequence of Nintendo not loading up on supply— a common practice with systems as they enter the very end of their lifecycles (you can’t have 1 million Switch OLEDs in supply warehouses when your looking at under 10 million WW LTD sales, for instance).

If you recall, this is actually why PS4/XBO sales flatlined midway through 2020, i.e. COVID sent demand well beyond what supply was capable of.

Watch the $20 dollar Pokemon games help Switch 1 to reach 160 million lmao

Based on current last in USA and Europe, 160 million is getting out the realm of feasible possibilities unless Japan really hard carry its sales this year

158 million is now a safer bet than 160 million
